• Standards information (reference information, bibliographic data) is structural information between standards and metainformation relating to standards

• Standards information has two main functions:- Immediate identification of a document, e.g. publisher, document number, issue date, title - Depiction and indexing of interdepend-encies (e.g. supersedures and amendments, references, inclusion in other bodies of rules) and content structures (e.g. classification systems) of standards collections both as individual entities and in their interaction with others

• Standards content is information in standards and is an integral part of the document
