AnyConnectSecureMobilityClientInstallationGuide
This guide will assist you with removing the old Cisco System VPN Client software and guide you
through installing the new Cisco AnyConnect Secure Mobility Client which is now the only supported
VPN application authorized for access to the Farm Bureau network.
The first part of this guide will instruct you on how to remove the old VPN Client from your machine.
You should remove the old client since it is no longer supported.
The second part of this guide will instruct you on how to install the new Cisco AnyConnect VPN Client on
your machine. The install procedure will verify, install, configure, and activate the AnyConnect VPN
Client software on your PC. This software requires a minimum of Internet Explorer 9 and Windows 7.
Also, you should have at least Java 7 Update 51 on your machine. The install procedure will check your
system prior to installation and will install the correct version of AnyConnect for your system.
This guide is intended for Windows 7 and Internet Explorer 9, 10, or 11 as these are the current software
standards supported by the company. Please contact the Help Desk if you have problems with the
installation procedure, questions about whether your machine has the right versions of Windows,
Internet Explorer or Java installed, or if you have problems with the AnyConnect application after it is
installed.

Uninstall the old VPN client: To uninstall the old Cisco VPN Client please follow these instructions.
Click on Start in the Taskbar. Right click on Control Panel.
Click on Programs and Features.
Click on Cisco Systems VPN Client (ignore version number.) Click Uninstall above to remove.
You will see the following pop-up. Click Yes.
You will then see the following sequence of pop-ups as the uninstall progresses. Do not interrupt this
process.
If you see this pop-up, click OK.
The uninstall procedure will continue to completion.
The old Cisco Systems VPN Client is now uninstalled.
You may exit this screen now and proceed with installing the new Cisco AnyConnect VPN Client.
There is some preliminary setup that needs to be done to ensure a smooth installation. You will need to
verify one of your settings in Internet Explorer. Please follow the next section of instructions to perform
this task.
Click Start on the Windows Taskbar and select Internet Explorer from the list of applications.
On the Internet Explorer screen, click Tools.
Click Internet Options in the pop-up menu and you will see this pop-up.
Click the Security tab. You will see the following:
Click Trusted Sites.
Click Sites. You will see this pop-up.
If https://webnet.sfbcic.com is not listed in the Websites window, enter it into the space left of the Add
button and then click Add.
The webnet site is now added to the list or trusted web sites in the Trusted zone. Click Close.
Click OK on the previous pop-up and you will return to the Internet Explorer screen.
Initial Installation: If you have already opened the http://www.sfbcic.com/sfbvpn web page, click on
the Install AnyConnect VPN Client link. Otherwise, open the Internet Explorer web browser ( if you
have not already done so) and enter the URL: https://webnet.sfbcic.com.
Note: Turn off Pop-up Blocker in your web browser prior to running the install program.
You will be presented with the screen below:
Enter your Farm Bureau network username and password and click Login.
The following pop-up screens will appear:
If you see this pop-up, click “Do not show this again…” and click Run.
The installation procedure will continue.

If you see this pop-up, click Allow and continue on:
If you see this RED pop-up, click Change Setting and continue on:
The Cisco AnyConnect Client will be installed on your machine and you will be connected to the Farm
Bureau VPN. Note that while ignoring warnings is never a good idea, in this case it is acceptable and
necessary to do so.
The install process continues…
VPN connection is being established…
When you see the blue Cisco box at the right bottom corner, you are connected to the VPN.
Note that this blue box will disappear after a few moments.
To Disconnect from the VPN: Click the small up-arrow in the lower right corner of the Windows task
bar and you will see the following pop-up. Locate and click the round icon with padlock. This is the
Cisco AnyConnect icon.
You will then see the following pop-up. You can click Disconnect to disconnect from the VPN. To make
the pop-up go away click the X button at the top right corner of the box.
To re-establish the connection click Connect.
And you will be asked for your login credentials to complete the connection:
Enter your Farm Bureau network username and password and click OK.
You are now re-connected via the VPN:
To start the installed AnyConnect VPN client: Right click Start on the Windows Task Bar. Find the Cisco
folder and open it. Click Cisco AnyConnect Secure Mobility Client.
You will see the following pop-up. Click Connect:
You will see the following pop-up:
Enter your Farm Bureau network username and password and click OK.
When you see this pop-up, you are connected to the VPN. Note: The pop-up may go away once the
connection is established.
Click Disconnect or follow Disconnect instructions above to disconnect from the VPN.
