Department of Posts has decided to conduct the LDCE (66.66%of vacancies)forpromotion to the cadre of Inspector Posts for the vacancies for the period 01.04.2016 to31 .12.2018 as per the following schedule:

Note l: The officials working in the above categories should have put in not less thanfive years of regular service on the crucial date of erigibirity.

Note 2: Regular service for LSG shall be including regular service rendered in postalAssistant / Sorting Assistant cadre.

Note 3: officials shall be allowed a maximum of four chances, irrespective of grade toappear in LDCE. Officials belonging to SC or ST shall be i1owed mfximumof six chances. Count the number of chance by considering the scheduledLDCE as one chance because candidates.are sitting / appearingfphysically onlyone time. Note 4 : A candidate who is serving in APS for the last two years as on I't January ofthe year, to which to which the vacancies pertain to, or had served in ApS forminimum period of two years shall be allowed additional two chances toappear in the LDCE. Accordingly an aspirant from ApS will get 4+2: 6chances to appear in the examination.

Note 5: Maximum ag9 for appearing in LDCE shail not be exceeding 40 years as oncrucial date of eligibility. There shall be relaxation of 5 yeari for Sc and STcandidates.

Age and service conditions mentioned above are also applicable to thecandidates on deputation to ApS.

Note: Officials on deputation to APS shall be granted grace marks of loZ of marksobtained for each completed year of deputation in-aps, a-s on the date of examination,

subject to maximum of l0o/o grace marks. The final merit list shall be drawn afterarriving at the total marks including grace marks6 . 7. : The Examination will be conductedat all the circle Headquarters orlyJhe cundidat"s will have to appear from therespective centre of their circle only and under no circumstances, they may bepermitted to appear from other Circle Centres.Applicants serving on deputation in APS wilt appear from the examinationcentre of their parent Civil circles. The APS authoritie; will send the applications ofthe Applicants working in APS to the concerned Nodal officer of tirl circle byfumishing the eligibility derails.

8' The tentative vacancies under LDCE IP for all the circles are 446.Circle wise,year-wise, details are given in Annexure-Il. This vacancy position is subject tochange.

9. The competent Authority reserves the right to change or modify thepattern of examination, syllabus etc at any time.

(a)' Examination shall consist of 4 papers viz. Paper I, II, III & IV and each paper shallcarry 300 marks.

(b). No. of questions:

i. 150 questions of MCe type in paper I,II & IIii. 125 questions of MCe type in piper IV and Noting & Drafting for 50 marks.

(c). Duration of Examination shall be 3 hours for each paper.

(d)' Qualifying Marks in each paper shall be 40%o subject to an overall average of 45%fo^1

G^eneral Category and 33%o marks in each paper subject to an overall average of38%o for SC/ST.

(e)' ln all cases circulars, orders and guidelines issued upto 3l't December, 20lg willbe part of the syllabus except Annual Report and gook of information for which latestreport and information for which latest report and information available/published inDoP website will be taken.

(f). Examination shall be without aid of books.
