A HISTORIC HIGHWAY TOTHE HEART OF THE CITY
Chelsea Waterworks pondsbuilt on what is now GrosvenorWaterside site, extracting tidalwater from the Thames toprovide drinking water for westLondon. Water supplies werelater extracted from SeethingWells, near Kingston.
1723
During a period of concentratedand busy central London urbandevelopment, Grosvenor Canalopens as a means of easilytransporting building materialsto Pimlico and Victoria by barge.
1825
Victoria Station is built in the area formerly occupied by the Grosvenor Canal basin.As a result, Grosvenor Canal is halved in length.
1858
Grosvenor Waterside’s WesternPumping Station is built. Thishas now been preserved and isa listed building. Its distinctiveroof is echoed by the exteriorcolour of Bramah.
1872-5
Grosvenor Canal is halved inlength again to make way forthe Ebury Bridge Estate. Theriverward length of canal thatconnects to the Thames ispreserved for further usage.
1925
Grosvenor Canal is activelyutilised as a dock. Furtherupstream towards Victoria,barges are loaded with rubbishfor onward transport to theThames. From here, the rubbishis taken to depots forprocessing and disposal.
1990s
Planning permission is grantedfor redevelopment of theGrosvenor Canal area, and forthe construction of the new andpioneering Grosvenor Watersideresidential development.
2000
Grosvenor Waterside is a leadingcentral London residential area thatseamlessly blends architecture,art, sculpture and constructionin a single themed environment.Phase 1 is completed. Bramah is now available for sale.

Bramah is the central and artistic focus atGrosvenor Waterside,which features a numberof outstanding sculpturalworks created bycelebrated artists.
Make is a pioneering architectural firm that prides itself on creating buildings ofoutstanding vision and originality. Bramah is simultaneously a work of art, a massivesculpture and an exceptionally desirableplace to live.
The building’s exterior provides a grandcanvas for a major artwork by renownednature-inspired artist Clare Woods. Herdesign is reproduced on an exterior ‘skin’of anodised aluminium panels, whoselustrous champagne-like colour reflectschanges in light during the day and evening.It also echoes the shimmering effect oflight on the nearby listed pump house roof.
Grosvenor Waterside also incorporates a sculpture by leading Royal Academysculptor Richard Wilson and a waterfeature by German artist EkkehardAltenburger that visualises the flow of the River Thames.
Grosvenor Waterside’s Hepworth Court is home to Chelsea Futurespace, whichfeatures changing exhibits of paintings,photography, sculpture and new mediafrom leading alumni and staff of ChelseaCollege of Art & Design.

BALCONIES
All apartments facing Grosvenor Dock havedeep, spacious balconies, which are recessedfor maximum privacy. Some apartmentshave full-length balconies, whilst others have separate balconies for reception andbedroom. Apartments facing the elevatedgarden have Juliet balconies.
BALUSTRADES AND HANDRAILS
The balustrades create a natural, organic feel to reflect the building’s overall theme. Froma single Cornish supplier, wooden handrailsare weathered to resemble natural driftwood.
WINDOWSDesigned to capture maximum naturaldaylight, floor-to-ceiling reception windowscreate a glass wall effect linking indoors to outdoors. Bedroom windows compriseslender apertures to soften light and createan intimate atmosphere.
EXTERIOR ARTWORK
Clare Woods’ artwork envelopes Bramah in etched, anodised aluminium panels, givingthe building a muted sheen and champagnelustre. The appearance of the building altersas the light changes, and patterns appear to alter from positive to negative.
SUSTAINABILITY
Grosvenor Waterside is on a former brownfield site, now transformed into anelegant landscaped residential development in the heart of west London. Bramah itself has earned a ‘Very Good’ rating under theBREEAM EcoHomes assessment system.
Energy-efficient technology minimises thecarbon footprint, and the Combined Heat &Power plant is fuelled by eco-friendly biofuel.
Every apartment has its own water meter and water-efficient appliances, with multi-compartment waste bins for easy recycling.Rainwater is also harvested to reduceconsumption and to irrigate the elevatedgarden, which attracts wildlife and encourages biodiversity.
