CHURCH OF OUR LADY OF THE ASSUMPTION
WOODBRIDGE/BETHANY
FIFTEENTH SUNDAY IN ORDINARY TINE

The seed is the word of God, Christ is the sower.
All who come to him will have life forever.
Weekday Masses are celebrated at the Mother Church
MONDAY, TUESDY, WEDNESDAY, FRIDAY
@ 9:00 A.M.
NO MASS ON THURSDAYS
SATURDAYS @ 8:30 A.M.
Glory to God in the Highest
Glory to God in the highest,
and on earth peace to people of good will.
We praise you,
we bless you,
we adore you,
we glorify you,
we give you thanks for your great glory,
Lord God, heavenly King,
O God, almighty Father.
Lord Jesus Christ, Only Begotten Son,
Lord God, Lamb of God, Son of the Father,
you take away the sins of the world,
have mercy on us;
you take away the sins of the world,
receive our prayer;
you are seated at the right hand of the Father,
have mercy on us.
For you alone are the Holy One,
you alone are the Lord,
you alone are the Most High,
Jesus Christ,
with the Holy Spirit,
in the glory of God the Father.
Amen.
Second Reading
A Reading from the Letter of St. Paul
to the Romans
Brothers and sisters: I consider that the sufferings
of this present time are as nothing compared with
the glory to be revealed for us. For creation awaits
with eager expectation the revelation of the chil-
dren of God; for creation was made subject to futil-
ity, not of its own accord but because of the one
who subjected it, in hope that creation itself would
be set free from slavery to corruption
and share in the glorious freedom of the children
of God. We know that all creation is groaning in
labor pains even until now; and not only that, but
we ourselves, who have the firstfruits of the Spirit,
we also groan within ourselves as we wait for
adoption, the redemption of our bodies.

L. The Word of the Lord
R. Thanks be to God
First Reading
A Reading from the Book of the Prophet Isaiah
Thus says the LORD:
Just as from the heavens
the rain and snow come down
and do not return there
till they have watered the earth,
making it fertile and fruitful,
giving seed to the one who sows
and bread to the one who eats,
so shall my word be
that goes forth from my mouth;
my word shall not return to me void,
but shall do my will,
achieving the end for which I sent it.
L. The Word of the Lord
R. Thanks be to God
Nicene Creed
I believe in one God, the Father almighty,
maker of heaven and earth, of all things visible
and invisible. I believe in one Lord Jesus Christ,
the Only Begotten Son of God, born of the Father
before all ages. God from God, Light from Light,
true God from true God, begotten, not made,
consubstantial with the Father; through him all
things were made. For us men and for our salva-
tion he came down from heaven, and by the Holy
Spirit was incarnate of the Virgin Mary,
and became man. For our sake he was crucified
under Pontius Pilate, he suffered death and was
buried, and rose again on the third day in accord-
ance with the Scriptures. He ascended into heaven
and is seated at the right hand of the Father.
He will come again in glory to judge the living
and the dead and his kingdom will have no end.
I believe in the Holy Spirit, the Lord, the giver of
life, who proceeds from the Father and the Son,
who with the Father and the Son is adored and
glorified, who has spoken through the prophets.
I believe in one, holy, catholic and apostolic
Church. I confess one Baptism for the forgiveness
of sins and I look forward to the resurrection of
the dead and the life of the world to come. Amen.
ANIMA CHRISTI (Prayer after Communion)
Soul of Christ, sanctify me. Body of Christ, save me. Blood of Christ, inebriate me. Water
from the side of Christ, wash me. Passion of Christ, strengthen me. O good Jesus, hear me.
Within Thy wounds hide me. Separated from Thee let me never be. From the malignant
enemy, defend me. At the hour of death, call me. And close to Thee bid me. That with Thy
saints I may be Praising Thee, forever and ever. Amen
PRAYER TO ST MICHAEL THE ARCHANGEL
St. Michael the Archangel, defend us in battle,
be our protection against the wickedness and snares of the devil.
May God rebuke him we humbly pray; and do thou,
O Prince of the Heavenly host, by the power of God,
cast into hell Satan and all the evil spirits
who prowl about the world seeking the ruin of souls. Amen.

The 2020 Mission Cooperative Appeal Collection
Second Collection July 18/19
The Mission Cooperative Appeal Collection will be taken as a second collection next week-
end. Because of the coronavirus pandemic, representatives are not able to be with us this
year; however, although physically distant, we have the opportunity to be present to them
through our spiritual and financial support.
The ministries of The Diocese of Kumbakonam, India will benefit from our parish’s generosi-
ty. The Diocese ministers to some of the most marginalized communities in India and re-
quests our help with the construction of a needed chapel, training for religious educators
and lay ministers to serve 600 missions in the Diocese and evangelization efforts in rural ar-
eas.
Our sharing in response to Christ’s call that we “love one another” will bring His hope into
the lives of many.
We ask your generous response. Checks may be made out to the The Catholic Mission Aid
Office. On their behalf, thank you.
Protective Masks
The Parish office has a new supply of
protective masks graciously sewn by The
Mask Stitchers of Chatfield and donated
to the parish.

If you are in need of a protective mask
please call or email the parish office.

Wake me up Lord, so that the evil of racism
finds no home within me.
Keep watch over my heart Lord,
and remove from me any barriers
to your grace,
that may oppress and offend
my brothers and sisters.
Fill my spirit Lord, so that I may give
services of justice and peace.
Clear my mind Lord, and use it for your glory.
And finally, remind us Lord that you said,
"blessed are the peacemakers,
for they shall be called children of God."
Amen.
