And verily, (will be) successful today who overcomes.` 64 They said, `O Musa! Either [that] you throw or [that] we will be the first who throws?` 65 He said, `Nay, you throw.` Then behold! Their ropes and their staffs seemed to him by their magic that they (were) moving. 66 So sensed in himself a fear, Musa. 67 We said, `(Do) not fear. Indeed, you you (will be) superior. 68 And throw what (is) in your right hand; it will swallow up what they have made. Only they (have) made a trick (of) a magician and not will be successful the magician wherever he comes.` 69 So were thrown down the magicians prostrating. They said, `We believe in (the) Lord (of) Harun and Musa.` 70 He said, `You believe [to] him before [that] I gave permission to you. ��������He said,`You believe[to] himbefore[that]I gave permissionto you.Indeed, he

68. We said, `Do notfear. Indeed, you willbe superior.

70. So the magicianswere thrown down inprostration. They said,`We believe in the Lordof Harun and Musa.`

71. He (Firaun) said,`You believed himbefore I gave youpermission. Indeed, he

(is) your chief,the one whotaught youthe magic.So surely I will cut offyour hands

������and your feetofopposite sides,and surely I will crucify youon(the) trunks

����(of) date-palmsand surely you will knowwhich of us(is) more severe(in) punishment

�������and more lasting.`71They said,`Neverwe will prefer youoverwhat

���� has come to usofthe clear proofs,and the One Whocreated us.So decree

�������whateveryou(are) decreeing.Onlyyou can decree(for) thislife

�����(of) the world.72Indeed, [we]we believein our Lordthat He may forgive

��������[to] usour sinsand whatyou compelled uson itofthe magic.And Allah

�������(is) Bestand Ever Lasting.`73Indeed, hewhocomes(to) his Lord

������ �(as) a criminalthen indeed,for him(is) Hell.Nothe will diein itand not

������ live.74But whoevercomes to Him(as) a belieververily,he has done

������the righteous deeds,then thosefor them(will be) the ranks,[the] high.75

�������Gardens(of) Edenflowsfromunderneath themthe rivers,abiding forever

��� ���in it.And that(is) the reward(for him) whopurifies himself.76And verily,

�������We inspiredtoMusathat,`Travel by nightwith My slavesand strike

Surah 20: The Ta Ha (v. 72-77) Part - 16

is your chief whotaught you magic. So Iwill surely cut off yourhands and your feet ofopposite sides, and Iwill crucify you on thetrunks of the date-palms, and you willsurely know which ofus is more severe andmore lasting inpunishment.`

72. They said, `Wewill never prefer you towhat has come to us ofthe clear proofs and(to) One Who createdus. So decree whateveryou are decreeing. Youcan decree only for thelife of this world.`

73. Indeed, we believe inour Lord that He mayforgive us our sins andthe magic to which youcompelled us. AndAllah is Best and EverLasting.`

74. Indeed, he whocomes to his Lord as acriminal then indeed,for him is Hell. He willneither die in it norlive.

75. But whoevercomes to Him as abeliever, having donerighteous deeds, forthose will be the highranks.

76. Gardens of Eden,underneath whichrivers flow, they willabide in it forever. Andthat is the reward forone who purifieshimself.

77. And verily, Weinspired to Musa,`Travel by night withMy slaves and strike

����� being afraid.`77Then followed themFiraunwith his forces,but covered them

����� ��fromthe seawhatcovered them78And led astrayFiraunhis people

�����and (did) notguide them.79O Children of Israel!Verily,We delivered you

���fromyour enemy,and We made a covenant with youon (the) side(of) the Mount

������the right,and We sent downto youthe Mannaand the quails.80Eat

�������of(the) good thingswhichWe have provided youand (do) nottransgresstherein,

���� ��lest should descendupon youMy Anger.And whoeveron whom descendsMy Anger,

�����indeed,he (has) perished.81But indeed, I Amthe Perpetual Forgiver

������ of whoeverrepentsand believesand doesrighteous (deeds)thenremains guided.

�������82`And whatmade you hastenfromyour people,O Musa?`83

��������He said,`They(are) closeuponmy tracks,and I hastenedto youmy Lord,

������that You be pleased.`84He said,`But indeed, We[verily]We (have) tried

�� ����your peopleafter youand has led them astraythe Samiri.`85

� ������Then Musa returnedtohis peopleangry(and) sorrowful.He said,

78. Then Firaun followedthem with his forces, butcovered them from thesea (i.e., water) thatwhich covered them

79. And Firaun led hispeople astray and did notguide them.

80. O Children of Israel!Verily, We delivered youfrom your enemy, andWe made a covenantwith you on the rightside of the Mount andWe sent down to youManna and the quails.

81. Eat of the good thingswhich We have providedyou and do not transgresstherein, lest My Angershould descend uponyou. And he on whomMy Anger descends hasindeed perished.

82. But indeed, I Amthe Perpetual Forgiver ofwhoever repents andbelieves and doesrighteous deeds thenremains guided.

83. (Allah said), `Andwhat made you hastenfrom your people, OMusa?`

84. He said, `They areclose upon my tracks,and I hastened to you myLord, that You bepleased.`

85. He said, `But indeed,We have tried yourpeople after you(departed), and theSamiri has led themastray.

86. Then Musa returned tohis people, angry andsorrowful. He said,

`O my people!Did notpromise youyour Lorda promisegood?Then, did seem long

�������to youthe promise,ordid you desirethatdescendupon you

�������(the) Angerofyour Lord,so you broke(the) promise to me?`86They said,

�������`Notwe brokepromise to youby our will,but we[we] were made to carryburdens

������fromornaments(of) the people,so we threw themand thusthrew

�������the Samiri.`87`Then he brought forthfor thema calf sbodyit had

���� a lowing sound,and they said,`This(is) your godand the god

�����(of) Musa,but he forgot.`88Then, did notthey seethat not

�������it (could) returnto thema wordand notpossessfor themany harm

�������and notany benefit?89And verily(had) saidto themHarun

� ������before,`O my people!Onlyyou are being testedby it,and indeed,

�����your Lord(is) the Most Gracious,so follow meand obeymy order.`90

���� ���They said,`Neverwe will ceasebeing devoted to ituntilreturns

��������to usMusa.`91He said,`O Harun!Whatprevented you,when

�����you saw themgoing astray,92That notyou follow me?

Surah 20: The Ta Ha (v. 87-93) Part - 16

`O my people! Didyour Lord not promiseyou a good promise?Then, did the promiseseem long to you, ordid you desire that theAnger of your Lorddescend upon you, soyou broke your promiseto me?

87. They said, `We didnot break our promiseto you by our own will,but we were made tocarry burdens from theornaments of thepeople, so we threwthem, and thus threwthe Samiri.`

88. `Then he broughtforth for them (thestatue of) a calf whichhad a lowing sound,and they said, `This isyour god and the god ofMusa, but he hasforgotten.`

89. Then, did they notsee that it could notreturn to them a word(i.e., respond to them)and that it did notpossess for them anyharm or benefit?

90. And verily Harun hadsaid to them before, `Omy people! You areonly being tested by it,and indeed, your Lordis the Most Gracious,so follow me and obeymy order.`

91. They said, `Neverwe will cease beingdevoted to it (i.e., thecalf) until Musa returnsto us.`

92. He (Musa) said,`O Harun! Whatprevented you, whenyou saw them goingastray,

Then, have you disobeyedmy order?`93He said,`O son of my mother!

�������(Do) notseize (me)by my beardand notby my head.Indeed, I[I] feared

����� �thatyou would say,You caused divisionbetween(the) Children of Israel

�������and notyou respectmy word.`94He said,`Then what(is) your case,

�������O Samiri?`95He said,`I perceivedwhatnotthey perceive,

����� in it,so I tooka handfulfrom(the) track(of) the Messenger

������then threw it,and thussuggestedto memy soul.`96

�������He said,`Then go.And indeed,for youinthe lifethat

�����you will say,(Do) nottouch.`And indeed,for you(is) an appointment

������neveryou will fail to (keep) it.And lookatyour godthat which

�����you have remainedto itdevoted.Surely we will burn itthen

�����certainly we will scatter itinthe sea(in) particles.`97Only

�������your God(is) Allahthe One,(there is) nogodbutHe.

������He has encompassedallthings(in) knowledge.98Thus

������ �We relateto youfrom(the) news(of) whathas preceded.

Surah 20: The Ta Ha (v. 94-99) Part - 16

Then have youdisobeyed my order?`

94. He (Harun) said, `Oson of my mother! Donot seize me by mybeard or by my head.Indeed, I feared thatyou would say, Youcaused divisionamong the Children ofIsrael, and you didnot respect myword.`

95. He (Musa) said,`Then what is yourcase, O Samiri?`

96. He said, `Iperceived what theydid not perceive, so Itook a handful (ofdust) from the track ofthe Messenger andthrew it, and thus mysoul suggested tome.`

97. He (Musa) said,`Then go. And indeed,in this life it is foryou to say, Touch menot. And indeed, foryou is an appointmentthat you will fail tokeep. And look atyour god to whichyou remaineddevoted. We willsurely burn it, andscatter its particles inthe sea.`

98. Your God is onlyAllah. There is no godbut He. He hasencompassed allthings in knowledge.

99. Thus, We relateto you from the newsof what has preceded.

ÏÍ�- þ×� ° �Ç 444 ÎÓ -�C¦�¾ ¢ë������And certainlyWe have given youfromUsa Reminder.99

����� Whoeverturns awayfrom it,then indeed, hewill bear(on the) Day

������(of) Resurrectiona burden.100Abiding foreverin it,and evil

����for them(on the) Day(of) the Resurrection(as) a load101

����(The) Daywill be blowninthe Trumpet,and We will gather

���� the criminals,that Day,blue- eyed.102They are murmuring

����� among themselves,`Notyou remainedexcept (for)ten.`103

�������Weknow bestwhatthey will saywhenwill say,(the) best of them

�����(in) conduct,`Notyou remainedexcept (for)a day.`104

������And they ask youaboutthe mountains,so say,`Will blast themmy Lord

������(into) particles.105Then He will leave it,a levelplain.106

�������Notyou will seein itany crookednessand notany curve.`107

������On that Daythey will followthe callernocrookednessfor him.

��And (will be) humbledthe voicesfor the Most Gracious,so not

�������you will hearexcepta faint sound.108(On) that Daynotwill benefit

Surah 20: The Ta Ha (v. 100-109) Part - 16

And We have certainlygiven you a Reminderfrom Us.

100. Whoever turnsaway from it, thenindeed, he will bear aburden on the Day ofResurrection.

101. They will abide in itforever, and evil will bethe load for them on theDay of Resurrection

102. The Day theTrumpet will be blown,and We will gather thecriminals, that Day,blue-eyed (with terror).

103. Murmuring amongthemselves, `You didnot remain except forten.`

104. We know bestwhat they will saywhen the best of themin conduct will say,`You did not remainexcept for a day.

105. And they ask youabout the mountains,say, `My Lord willblast them intoparticles.

106. Then He will leaveit a level plain.

107. You will not see init any crookedness orany curve.`

108. On that Day theywill follow the caller,no crookedness in him.And all voices will behumbled (in thepresence of) the MostGracious, so you willnot hear except a faintsound.

109. On that Day, nointercession will benefit

ÏÍ�- þ×�¨°�Ç 445 ÎÓ -�C¦�¾ ¢ë����

the intercessionexcept(to) whomhas given permission[to him]

����� the Most Gracious,and He has acceptedfor hima word.109He knows

�� �����what(is) before themand what(is) behind them,while notthey will encompass

����it(in) knowledge.110And (will be) humbledthe faces

�����before the Ever-Living,the Self-Subsisting.And verilywill have failed(he) who

�������carriedwrongdoing.111But (he) whodoesofthe righteous deeds

�������while he(is) a believer,then nothe will fearinjusticeand notdeprivation.

�����112And thusWe have sent it down,(the) Quran(in) Arabic

�����and We have explainedin itofthe warningsthat they mayfear

������orit may cause[for] themremembrance.113So high (above all)

������(is) Allahthe King,the True.And (do) nothastenwith the Quran

� �������before[that]is completedto youits revelation,and say,`My Lord!

�����Increase me(in) knowledge.`114And verilyWe made a covenant

��� �����withAdambefore,but he forgot;and notWe foundin him

������determination.115And whenWe saidto the Angels,`Prostrate

except to whom theMost Gracious hasgiven permission andhas accepted his word.

110. He knows what isbefore them and whatis behind them whilethey do not encompassit in knowledge.

111. And faces willbe humbled before theEver-Living, the Self-Subsisting. And verily,he will have failed hewho carrieswrongdoing.

112. But he who doesrighteous deeds whilehe is a believer, thenhe will neither fearinjustice nordeprivation.

113. And thus We havesent it down, theQuran in Arabic andhave explained thewarnings in it that theymay fear Allah or thatit may cause themremembrance.

114. So high (above all)is Allah, the TrueKing. And do nothasten with the Quranbefore its revelation iscompleted to you, andsay, `My Lord!Increase me inknowledge.`

115. And verily Wemade a covenant withAdam before, but heforgot; and We did notfind in himdetermination.

116. And when Wesaid to the Angels,`Prostrate

to Adam,`then they prostrated,exceptIblis;he refused.116

�������Then We said,`O Adam!Indeed,this(is) an enemyto youand to your wife.

�����So not(let) him drive you bothfromParadiseso (that) you would suffer.

�������117Indeed,for youthat notyou will be hungrythereinand not

������you will be unclothed.118And that younotwill suffer from thirsttherein

��� �and notexposed to the sun s heat.`119Then whisperedto him

�������Shaitaan,he said,`O Adam!ShallI direct youto(the) tree

�����(of) the Eternityand kingdomnot(that will) deteriorate?`120

����Then they both atefrom it,so became apparentto themtheir shame

������and they began,(to) fastenon themselvesfrom(the) leaves(of) Paradise.

� ������And Adam disobeyedhis Lord,and erred.121Thenchose him

�������his Lord,and turnedto himand guided (him).122He said,`Go down

������from itall,some of youto others(as) enemy.Then if

������comes to youfrom Meguidancethen whoever,followsMy guidance,

�������then nothe will go astrayand notsuffer.123And whoeverturns away

Surah 20: The Ta Ha (v. 117-124) Part - 16

to Adam,` and theyprostrated, exceptIblis; he refused.

117. Then We said,`O Adam! Indeed, thisis an enemy to you andyour wife. So let himnot drive you out fromParadise so that yousuffer.

118. Indeed, it is foryou not to be hungrytherein or beunclothed.

119. And that you willnot be thirsty thereinor exposed to the sun sheat.`

120. Then Shaitaanwhispered to him; hesaid, `O Adam! Shall Idirect you to the treeof Eternity andkingdom that will notdeteriorate?`

121. Then they both atefrom it, so their shamebecame apparent tothem, and they beganto fasten onthemselves leaves ofParadise. And Adamdisobeyed his Lordand erred.

122. Then his Lordchose him and turnedto him (in forgiveness)and guided him.

123. He said, Godown from it all, beingenemies to oneanother. Then if therecomes to you guidancefrom Me, thenwhoever follows Myguidance will neithergo astray (in thisworld) nor suffer (inthe Hereafter).

fromMy remembrance,then indeed,for him(is) a lifestraitened

���� and We will gather him(on the) Day(of) the Resurrectionblind.`124

�������He will say,`My Lord!WhyYou raised meblindwhile [verily]I had

�������sight.`125He will say,`Thuscame to youOur Signs,but you forgot them,

������and thustodayyou will be forgotten.`126And thusWe recompense

����� (he) whotransgresses,and notbelievesin (the) Signs(of) his Lord.

��� And surely (the) punishment(of) the Hereafter(is) more severeand more lasting.

������127Then has notit guided[for] themhow manyWe (have) destroyed

�����before them,ofthe generations,(as) they walkintheir dwellings?

�������Indeed,inthatsurely (are) Signsfor possessors(of) intelligence.128

�����And if not(for) a Word(that) precededfromyour Lord,

���surely (would) have beenan obligationand a termdetermined.129

�������So be patientoverwhatthey sayand glorifywith praise(of) your Lord

�������before(the) rising(of) the sunand beforeits setting;and from(the) hours

������(of) the night,and glorify(at the) ends(of) the dayso that you may be satisfied.

Surah 20: The Ta Ha (v. 125-130) Part - 16

from My remembrance,then indeed, he willhave a straitened life,and We will gather(i.e., raise) him blindon the Day ofResurrection.`

125. He will say, `MyLord! Why have Youraised me blind while Ihad sight (before).`

126. He will say, `ThusOur Signs came to you,but you forgot them;and thus this Day youwill be forgotten.`

127. And thus Werecompense he whotransgresses and doesnot believe in the Signsof his Lord. And surely,the punishment of theHereafter is moresevere and morelasting.

128. Then has it notguided them that howmany generations Wehave destroyed beforethem as they walkamong their dwellings?Indeed, in that areSigns for possessors ofintelligence.

129. And if not for aWord that precededfrom your Lord, it (i.e.,punishment) wouldhave been an obligation(due immediately) butthere is a termdetermined (forrespite).

130. So be patientover what they say andglorify the praises ofyour Lord before therising of the sun andbefore its setting; andglorify Him during thehours of the night andat the ends of the dayso that you may besatisfied.

130And (do) notextendyour eyestowardswhat

��� We have given for enjoyment[with it],pairsof them(the) splendor

�����(of) the life(of) the world,that We may test themin it.And (the) provision

�����(of) your Lord(is) betterand more lasting.131And enjoin(on) your family

������the prayerand be steadfasttherein.NotWe ask you(for) provision;

�����Weprovide (for) you,and the outcome(is) for the righteous[ness].132

������And they say,`Why nothe brings usa signfromhis Lord?`

�����Has notcome to themevidence(of) what(was) in

�����`Our Lord,why notYou sentto usa Messenger,

��� ��so we (could) have followedYour Signsbefore[that]

����we were humiliatedand disgraced.`134Say,`Each

�����(is) waiting;so await.Then you will knowwho(are the) companions

(of) the way[the] even,and whois guided.`135

Surah 20: The Ta Ha (v. 131-135) Part - 16

131. And do not extendyour eyes towardsthat by which Wehave given enjoymentto (some) pairs ofthem, the splendor ofworldly life by whichWe may test them.And the provision ofyour Lord is betterand more lasting.

132. And enjoinprayer on your familyand be steadfasttherein. We do notask you forprovision; Weprovide for you, andthe (best) outcome isfor the righteous.

133. And they say,`Why does he notbring us a sign fromhis Lord?` Has therenot come to themevidence of what wasin the formerScriptures?

134. And if We haddestroyed them witha punishment beforehim, they would havesaid, `Our Lord, whydid You not send tous a Messenger so wecould have followedYour Signs beforewe were humiliatedand disgraced.

135. Say, `Each (of us)is waiting; so await.Then you will knowwho are thecompanions of theEven Way and who isguided.`
