The following information was received from March ~ir Force Base Flight Service and was contained 1n a report sent to ADCa

Eov~ring over El Centro, five {5) "flying saucers11 as large as D-361 s vrith ~ light underneath disappeared to the Southwest at a terrific rate of speed. .wl Centro ;·leath­er at OJl;? was clear, 15 miles visability. The7 were reported at 13/1115Z by El. Centro Sheri!f's office.

At 13/1 J l5A an F9F pilot taking ott !'rom ~ Centro Naval Air Station reported \'I hat appeared to be a shooting star diving at an angle or 60°. At 1 142Z a sheriff's car at llilnad, California sightetl a strnnge object resembling a pnraehu.te f'lare over the South end oi' the Salton Sea. At ll50Z 1 a control tower operator at Yuma sighted an orange and blue object 320° and 20 miles froa his position. H:>vering in one position it changed to anoth~r position and began hovering again. Operator said it v1a.s sighted for too long a period to be a falling star. From llOOZ to 1230Z El Centro K\S ho.d a flight of tour (4) F9F1 s airborne on a local flight •

Upon interview stated tha·t, he was on duty alcme in the control tower at Air Force Base on 1) lday 1952, and at 0400 hours 1he FJ.. Centro to•er reported seeing six (6) bright ob ects moving tD the southeast and asked tey to spot, them. ed that he scanned the alq with 7 x binoculars and at· hours sighted two (2) bright or&n~e objeota at 300 degrees true. ised further that these objects could not be seen with the na ,~e and that they appeared to be about one (1) foot in diameter and appearea to be round. further advised that objects appeared to . be at an altitude o! from 2500 to SOOO feet. stated that, he watched the objects for about thirty (JO) minutes and they were moving back and forth acro3s tho sky trom 290 degrees to about )05 degrees, as indicated on the crash map, and appeared to be tting further away all the tim Wltil finally they disappeared. ised that a beam or light similar to that of a aearoh light c trom one of the objects and that the beam or light kept going on and ott in different directions from the object. o advised that, very short but trails or what appeared to !lane cane out ot both objects. ther adviaed that 1 t was dark when he tlrat sighted the objects weather was very clear.

date, Westom Air Lines had two flights scheduled daUy, one at :ibout 1000 ; hours and one about 2100 hours. ·
