+RULES

1. Game consists of two halves (18 minutes equals a half)2. Each team has a goalie, 3 forwards, and 2 defensemen

Only in Class A men’s division is checking allowed. At no other time especially in PE is it allowed.

3. High Broom – You cannot swing your stick at a ball and the stick go above your shoulders. In Physical Education a High Broom would be swinging the stick above your waist.

4. Penalties are marked as minor, major or misconduct. (Minor is 2 minutes, major is 5 minutes and misconduct is 10 minutes)

5. Verbal or physical abuse is not allowed.

6. Substitutions during play are on the fly. There is no time outs for this. The player coming off the floor must be within arm’s reach before the substitute enters the playing area.7. All players except the goalies are allowed in the crease. There can be penalties for any team who enters the crease even if it is their own team member.

+Understanding of the Game

• Broomball is just like hockey and is played on a hockey rink either indoors or outdoors

• The object of the game is to score more points than your opponent.

• If there is an overtime then it will be three players on each team with no goalie for 5 minutes.

• In other overtimes they can also be shootouts just like Hockey.
