Which side of the Cross are you living on? By Pastor Peter McLewin Have you ever wondered why Jesus asked Mary not to cling to Him after He appeared to her near the garden tomb? “Mary do not cling to me.” (John 20:17) I have come to understand that in this moment Jesus was awakening Mary Magdalene to her true identity. She

was clinging to what she knew about Jesus on Friday, but Jesus wanted to awaken Mary to who He is in His resurrection. The Jesus she knew on Friday functioned with human limitations, but on Resurrection Sunday He was raised with the power and glory He had willingly set aside during His earthly ministry. Many believers find it easier to identify with the suffering Savior than to identify themselves as joint heirs ruling and reigning with Christ. Jesus lifted Mary to a new way of thinking, to a new identity. Our new identity is that we can have the same relationship with God that Jesus has. We can do the same things that Jesus does. This is what Jesus meant when He instructed Mary to “Go to my brothers and say to them, I am ascending to my Father and your Father.” Jesus wanted His followers to walk in the same relationship that He has with the Father. This is a huge shift in identity. Too many Christians live in more defeat than God intended. He wants us to walk in the same victory that He walks in. Make the shift with me from being a Good Friday believer with doubts and fears to becoming a Resurrection Sunday believer walking in victory. Why settle for less than God intended for us to have? Let’s walk in victory. When we find ourselves walking in old ways, it is a reminder to us that Friday thinking has crept back into our minds. When that happens, tell the Devil that you have a new identity that he cannot touch. Let’s learn to walk in the strength and power of Resurrection Sunday.

So then, from now on we acknowledge no one from an outward human point of view. Even though we have known Christ from such a human point of view, now we do not know him in that way any longer. So then, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; what is old has passed away, what is new has come!

Bryant Borges Bryant Borges is no stranger to Power Surge. In February he led us in

powerful worship. On May 8th he is returning as both our worship leader and speaker. Bryant is married to Natalie; together they delight in their two children. Bryant is the founder and leader of Face of Jesus ministry. He has ministered in South America and multiple places here in the USA. Recently he attended the Reinhard Bonnke school of evangelism in Florida.

Bryant is an honorably discharged Army captain with a Masters of Arts in Practical Theology and Healing from Regent University. After a sovereign life-changing encounter with Jesus in North Carolina, Bryant found himself spending extended hours with the Holy Spirit, having one desire and agenda—loving Jesus and being loved by Jesus. Birthed from first love for Jesus, Bryant and Natalie’s greatest passion is to empower the Church to live heaven on earth and to evangelize the nations of the world.

Visit their ministry at thefaceofjesus.org. Follow them on Facebook at Bryant Borges.

We always recommend bringing a recording device to Power Surge because you never know when a prophetic or healing word will be spoken over you.

Ingleside International Leadership Development for the Persecuted Church By Peter & Margaret McLewin [email protected]

Sri Lanka Please pray for the Christian community of Sri Lanka which lost over 300 people during Holy Week. Friends of mine were headed there today but felt it would be wise to delay their trip. In a few days we will host dear friends from India in our home. I have ministered with this family multiple times in India. Sam and his brother are traveling the world preaching the Gospel. Recently he was ministering in Sri Lanka.

Iran In June we will host Lazarus Yeghnezar with 222 Ministries in DC and Charlottesville. We will meet with organizations and foundations focused on reaching Iranians with the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Pray for favor as we seek to raise funds to lead discipleship training seminars for new Iranian believers. Pray for the growing church in Iran and among Iranian believers living in many countries around the world.

Ingleside International Partners 2019

We invite you to partner with Ingleside Inter-national, mentoring and training courageous leaders in places where believers are persecuted for their faith. A monthly gift of $19.00 throughout 2019 will help us extend our ministry around the world. Please make your check payable to Ingleside International. Write to our email address for credit card giving. The gifts we receive empower us to say yes when God opens doors like these. At the end of Colossians Paul said, "Remember my chains." Please pray for our friends in the chains of persecution. Page 4
