Content Area: English/Language Arts Grade Level: Kindergarten The purpose of this PowerPoint is to introduce

rhyming words and to provide interactive activities to ensure the student’s understanding of rhyming words.

Learning Objective: Using the interactive activities on this PowerPoint, the students will learn to recognize and identify rhyming words and be able to match two or more words that rhyme with 100% accuracy.

Content Standard: CCSS.ELA-Literacy.RF.K.2 Demonstrate understanding of spoken words, syllables, and sounds (phonemes). CCSS.ELA-Literacy.RF.K.2a Recognize and produce rhyming words.

Accomplishment: The students will be able to recognize, identify, and match rhyming words.

What are rhyming words?

Rhyming words are words that have the same ending sound.
