Otterbein is coming off a 42-0 loss to No. 2 ranked Mount Union. The Cardinals enter with a 2-6 overall record, 1-6 in the OAC. GAME TIME: 1:30 p.m., Saturday, November 5, Memorial Stadium, Westerville, Ohio THE COACHES: Marietta’s Jeff Filkovski is 9-29 in his fourth season as the leader of the Pioneers. He is the former signal caller for the Cologne Centurions of NFL Europe. Filkovski, who earned his bachelor’s degree from Allegheny College in 1991, led the Gators to a national championship in 1990. Otterbein’s Joe Loth is in his 9th year as the Cardinals’ head football coach. The 1991 graduate of Otterbein has a 48-41 record at his alma mater and has a 55-63 career mark (12th year). ALL-TIME SERIES: Saturday marks the 84th time that the two teams will meet on the gridiron. Otterbein holds a 42-41 lead in the series. The series began in 1892 with Marietta winning 6-0. The Pioneers dominated the series early on winning 17 of the first 20 meet- ings. In recent yerar, Otterbein has controlled the series with 13 wins in the last 20 games, including a 21-14 victory in Marietta last year. LAST MEETING: Otterbein scored with 18 seconds left in the game, breaking a 14-14 tie, and then held on for the 21-14 victory. The Cardinals blocked a Marietta field goal attempt and returned it to the Pioneer 45-yard line. Three plays later, quarterback Austin Schossler ran the ball in from 13-yards out for the winning score. The teams traded touchdowns with Otterbeinscoring the first of three touchdowns and the Pioneers tying the score each time with a touchdown of their own. Marietta quarterback Andrew Keller completed 27-of-40 passes for 227 yards and a touchdown. Cory Kriechbaum had 12 receptions for 81 yards and a score. Keller was Marietta’s leading rusher with 70 yards on 15 carries. Schossler was 8-of-16 passing for 128 yards and a touchdown. Running back Colton Coy gained 111 yards on 22 carries and scored a touchdown. RADIO COVERAGE: Marietta College is scheduled to have WMRT-FM 88.3, its student radio station, broadcast the game for Pioneer fans.
