Section 1: How to Login

Your User Name and Password will be provided by your Advance Auto Parts Commercial Account Manager.

Step 1: Enter the URL www.advancecommercial.com in your web browser and add to ‘Favorites’ and Desktop for future reference:

Right click on screen

Add to Favorites

Right click on screen again

Create Shortcut (adds icon to desktop)

When you log in to the site you will

automatically be logged in all day.

You will have to explicitly log out by

clicking on the “Sign Out” link within

the site if you do not wish to remain

logged in all day.

Step 2: Login with your Username and Password (to create a new account user, see Section 10).

You can select the option to save your login and password when prompted in order to store your

login/password for your next visit.

If you have forgotten your password, click on the “Forgot Your Password?” link on the login page (circled

below). Fill out the available fields provided. After you hit “Submit Request”, an email will be forwarded to

Technical Support for a password reset request and an email will be sent directly to the account holder if an

email address is on file. Or you can contact 1-877-280-5965 for immediate password assistance.

The Password emailed to you or provided by Technical Support is a temporary Password. Once you log in using that temporary Password, you will need to create a permanent one. Below are the requirements regarding creating a Password:

Password:

Greater than 6 characters

Less than 64 characters

At least 2 alphabetical characters

At least 2 numerical characters

Case sensitive

Must not be the same as the Username

Section 2: Navigating the Main Menu

Catalog Tab Allows you to browse and shop for parts

Oil & Supplies Allows you to shop for oil and shop supply products

Pick Vehicle Allows you to enter vehicle information using a menu or using VIN number look-

up that will be used for searching or browsing for a part.

Pick Parts Allows you to search for parts by category and subcategory (this button is

disabled until you select vehicle year, model, make and engine)

Search Results Presents the results of your parts search

Parts Interchange

When you enter a part number from one manufacturer, the system will display a

list of part numbers from other manufacturers that fit the same application that

are available to order.

Orders Tab Allows you to view previous order detail and process reports

Saved Quotes During the “Reviewing and Submitting an Order” process, you will have the option to “Save for Later” and name the quote. This is where you will be able to view your Saved Quotes.

Order History

The Order History tab allows you to view your order history for orders placed

online, including order number, account number, order date, current status,

and a link to view order details.

Reports

The Reports tab allows you to view or print out the reports listed below over a

specified date range:

Report by Orders - Displays order details (Order number, Payment Method, Status) by status over a specified time frame

Report by Vehicle - Displays orders by vehicle type over a specified timeframe

Admin Tab* Allows you to manage your online users and view payment details

Users Search for existing users, edit details on an existing user, delete an existing

user, or create a new user

Account Details Displays payment type, cardholder name, payment number, payment

expiration date, Primary Store, and Network

*Note: Only users who have administration privileges will see the “Admin” tab.

Section 3: Using the Part Catalog

Step 1: Select the Pick Vehicle tab

Step 2a: To resume a previous search, select the desired vehicle from the Previous Vehicles column.

Saved vehicles will be shared across an account (versus by individual users). Quickly access

saved vehicles from any machine, regardless of user.

Step 2b: For a new search, select the Year, Make, Model and Engine of the vehicle under Vehicle

Selection

Note: After you have selected the vehicle, you will be automatically directed to the Pick Parts tab.

Section 4a: Choosing Parts

Step 1: Select part by Category or Project from drop down menu on the left (you will be able to select

multiple sub-categories while browsing). Or you can select a category in the Top Searches screen.

Step 2: Review the list of parts displayed in the Parts Search Results window.

Step 2a: Click on “More Images & Detail” to view a larger product image, along with an Overview, Specs,

and Application Data summary. Hover over the image to zoom in on the product picture. You may also print

out a paper-friendly formatted version of the Product Images & Detail window, containing all pertinent

information about that part.

Step 2b: In addition, from the Pick Parts tab, you can change the active vehicle and search using a new

vehicle and view the results regardless of fitment (2b).

Step 3a: Review the availability of each part listed, displayed in 3 columns: Primary, Network, and DC

Primary: Number of parts available your Primary AAP Store Network: Number of parts available in other nearby AAP Stores DC: Number of parts available at an AAP Warehouse Distribution Center Parts availability is provided based on the Primary, Network or DC based on your location. Additionally,

when you hover over the Network inventory, you will be able to see inventory for the other nearby locations

that have been added to your Network.

Note: If pricing is not available due to connectivity issues "N/A" will be displayed under List and Unit Price. Please call your local Store to confirm pricing. This message will only appear if there are connectivity issues to the Primary Store.

Step 3b: If you are showing a customer your screen, there is a hide cost/show cost button that can be used by selecting the “- “ button by the “Unit Price” at the top of the page. You can easily hide or reveal the unit price column on parts listing pages so the customer only sees the list price, not your cost.

Section 4b: Choosing Parts: Text Box Search

When you conduct a text or keyword search from the Catalog/Pick Vehicle tab (a), you are presented

with the search results page pictured above. If there are fitted parts for the vehicle selected, only those

Exact Fit parts (b) will display in the results. On the search results page you may also refine your

results by Category, Subcategory, or Brand (c).

In addition, you can select Remove or Change (d) to update the active vehicle. Removing the vehicle

will provide all results regardless of fitment and changing the vehicle will bring you back to results

based on exact fit only.

Section 4c: Choosing Parts: Oil & Supplies

Select the Oil & Supplies tab for products such as oil, batteries and shop rags. You can refine by

Department in the dropdown or you can select a category link in the Top Searches screen.

Section 4d: Choosing Parts: Parts Interchange

When you enter a part number from one manufacturer, the system will display a list of part numbers from

other manufacturers that fit the same application that are available to order.

Step 1: Enter a part number and click SEARCH FOR INTERCHANGE PARTS.

Step 2: Select manufacturer from a drop-down box (if multiple manufacturers exist for a given part number) and click SEARCH FOR INTERCHANGE PARTS.

View the compatible parts with the entered part number and manufacturer combination. You may add the

product(s) directly to your Shopping Cart by clicking on “Add to Cart” (a). Additionally, you may click on the

“Start Over” link to begin a new parts interchange lookup (b).

If there is no matching manufacturer found for a part number entered you will see an error message (c).

If we do have the part number and manufacturer information but Advance does not carry the parts compatible with the given part then the customer will see a different error message (d).

Section 5: Placing an Order

Step 1: In the Quantity column, enter the required quantity of the desired part (default number is “1”)

Step 2: Select the Add to Cart button to add the parts to your shopping cart (there is an “Add to Cart”

button on each line for each product that displays within the Parts Search Results area)

Step 3: To view the items in your cart or checkout, select the Shopping Cart icon located in the top right corner of the screen

Step 4: If finished shopping and ready to checkout, select the Checkout button located in the top right corner of the screen

Section 6a: Reviewing and Submitting an Order: Shopping Cart

Step 1: To remove items from the shopping cart, select the Remove button

Step 2: To change the quantity of an item within the shopping cart, click within the “Qty” box, change the number and select the Update button

Step 3: If you are a Core Banking customer, you will see a Core Charge Summary. If you are not a Core

Banking customer, the charge is presented in line with the Unit Price.

Step 4: To save the order for later, select the Save for Later button (see Section 7 for details)

Step 5: Click on the Continue Shopping button to be redirected to the “Pick Parts” page or whatever page you were on prior to selecting Continue Shopping

Step 6: If finished shopping and ready to checkout, select either of the Checkout buttons from the “Shopping Cart” window, this will open the “Payment Selection Order Review” window

Step 1: From the Payment Selection Order Review window, review the order details to ensure all entries are correct.

Step 2: Choose your Payment Type* from the drop down menu.

Payment options:

COD (Cash on Delivery)

Bank Account

Credit cards

Step 3: Add the Purchase Order Number

Step 4: You may type comments within the Additional Comments text box if applicable. These comments will be routed directly to your Commercial Parts Pro at your Advance Auto Parts Store.

Step 5: If you need to return to your Shopping Cart for any reason, select the Return to Cart button.

Step 6: When ready to place your order, select either of the Submit Order buttons.

Step 7: If you have a Promo Code discount offer, enter the code and hit the Apply button.

*Note: Payment type can only be by credit card or COD. No partial payments are accepted.

Section 6c: Reviewing and Submitting an Order:

Order Confirmation

Step 1: Once submitted the Order Confirmation window will appear with all order details Step 2: You may choose to Continue Shopping from the Order Confirmation window. This will lead you

back to the Pick Vehicle page.

Section 7a: Saving an Order

Step 1: To save an order for a later time without submitting, select the Save for Later button located on the Shopping Cart window

Step 2: In the pop up box, enter a Name and Description for the quote and select the Save for Later button in the pop up window when complete

When the Save for Later button is selected a pop-up window will allow you to name the quote by entering a name and description.

Section 7b: Retrieving a Saved Order

Step 1: Select the Orders tab from the main menu

Step 2: Select the Saved Quotes tab and choose a saved quote from the list or search for saved quote

Step 3a: To open a saved quote, select the View/Edit link next to the desired order (to modify saved

quotes: remove parts, change quantity, etc.)

Step 3b: To delete a saved quote select the Delete link next to the desired quote

Quotes are saved permanently until the order is placed or quote is deleted

Step 4: To edit a quote (change quantity or delete items) use the controls in the Edit Your Saved Quote window

Section 7c: Printing a Saved Order/Quote

Under Orders/Saved Quotes, you can print out a paper-friendly formatted version of a saved quote by

clicking on the Print Page link as illustrated in the diagram below.

The printout will look like the following:

Section 8: Viewing Order History

The Order History tab allows you to view your order history for orders placed online, including order

number, account number, order date, current status, and a link to view order details.

Step 1: Select the Orders tab from the main menu

Step 2: Select the Order History tab and view the list of Saved Quotes below

Step 3: Search for orders by:

Order Number

Order Status

Part number

Date range

Step 4: View list of orders from search and click on Review Order Details link to see more details about a specific order

Section 10a: How to Create a New Account User

To create a new user, you must login using the administrator Username and Password provided by your

Advance Auto Parts Commercial Account Manager.

Step 1: Click “Users” tab

Step 2: Select Create New User button

Step 3: Enter data into each field

below:

Use your administrator’s Login Name and Password and confirm Password.

Select “Account User” in the drop-down menu labeled Security Roles

Step 4: Select Save Changes button

Please reference Section 1 for Username and Password requirements.

You may reset your Password if you log in with the original credentials assigned to you by your Advance

Auto Parts Commercial Account Manager.

The Account Details tab displays the primary method of payment: COD, Advance Auto Parts charge

account, or VISA. The tab also displays cardholder name, payment number, payment expiration date,

Primary Store, and Network.

Section 11a: Features: Hide Cost/Customer Review You can easily hide or reveal the unit price column on parts listing pages so the customer only sees the list price, not your cost.

Step 1: Select the “-“ button by the Unit Price to hide the price.

Step 2: Select the “+“ button by the Unit Price to show the price.

Additionally, there is a hide cost Customer Review option located within the footer at the bottom

left hand side of the site on the Pick Parts, Shopping Cart, and Payment Selection Order Review

screens.

Step 3: Once Customer Review is selected, the Unit Price is hidden from view, leaving only the List Price in view. To display the Unit Price again, simply select Customer Review again. Customer Review will reset once you visit a new page (in other words, the Unit Price will appear again).

Section 11b: Features: Product Promotions

Review the site often for product promotions and discounts, in addition to programs and services offered at advance. You can find this type of information on the Login Page, along with the top and bottom of most pages of the site once you login. Any items that are on sale will be indicated in red with a Sale Price noted. The Sale Price is the discount off your regular Unit Price, not the List Price.

Section 13: Additional Navigation to Services and Programs

At the upper right hand corner, you can access additional services and programs Advance offers. If you are

enrolled in the ProRewards loyalty program, selecting the ProRewards link will automatically take you to the

ProRewards site without having to log in. The same is the case if you are a MotoLOGIC customer. No

additional log in is required with our single sign on access.
