Caricature

Caricature is a deliberate distortion of, and unflattering emphasis on, a person’s physical appearance.

Compare the following examples of caricatures of Australia’s former prime minister Kevin Rudd and discuss:

•Is any part realistic?

•Is it cruel or kind?

•What is emphasised?

•Is it funny?

•Is it recognisable?
