STEP 1: READ THE ESSAY TOPIC
A lot of people nowadays prefer screen versions to books; only few of us still keep up the traditions of reading. Which way of Literature acquisition do you find more satisfying?

STEP 6: WRITE THE INTRODUCTION
• Hook• General information on the topic

STEP 7: WRITE THE TOPIC SENTENCE FOR EACH PARAGRAPH
• A topic sentence tells the reader what a paragraph will be about.
Physical training is good for you. Physical activity improves blood circulation. The brain needs oxygen to function. You will be more alert in class.
STEP 8: WRITE THE BODY OF THE ESSAY
• Give supporting details• Use semantic variety (linkers,
synonyms)• Use syntactic variety (parallel
structures, sentences of various type, length, and
voice)
STEP 9: WRITE THE CONCLUSION
• It should NOT introduce any new ideas. It may make the reader think more deeply about the topic. The conclusion can do one or more of the following:
• a) restate the thesis statement in different words (paraphrase)
• b) restate the topic sentences from the body paragraphs (summarize the supporting points)
• c) state your opinion or preference• d) make a recommendation• e) give a solution• f) draw a conclusion
