Speaking notes:

• Can someone give me an example of a public place? (Allow for the students to answer the question)

• Is it okay to take pictures at your birthday party and then post them at the grocery store? (Allow students time to answer)

• No! We wouldn’t bring pictures of ourselves to the grocery store or shopping mall or any other public place and put them out for everyone to see.

• It’s important to be careful about the information or pictures shared online because the online world is a public place.

• It’s also important not to talk to people you don’t know (whether it’s by email, messaging apps, webcam or video chatting apps like Snap Chat or FaceTime).

• Your parents/guardians should always know what you are doing online. You need to ask permission from your parents or guardians before you share your pictures, play new games or talk to people online. This helps keep you safe!

• You always need to check with your parents/guardians before going to different places online and playing different games, just like you need to do offline.
