Where does PAHO stand on the MDGs?Where does PAHO stand on the MDGs?
Emphasize the equity challenge, • Going beyond “awareness” and “advocacy” to “ownership” and
“critical intervention at the local level”
Shift from focusing on poor countries to poor peoples • Where inequity and poverty are most frankly expressed.
Concentrate efforts on the most vulnerable municipalities• Agreement ECLAC/CELADE for sub national mappings.
Work on all the MDGs from the health perspective, understanding the principle of indivisibility and synergy in community work.
