Third-Generation Family Member Joins Allen Associates

Allen Associ-ates, one of the region’s leading providers of em-ployee benefits, personal financial and accounting services, recently welcomed third generation family member Corey S. Allen to the company to serve as Group Account Executive/Assistant Director of Marketing. Corey is the son of President Richard S. Allen and nephew of Senior Vice President Robert S. Allen.

In his new role, Corey works directly with the company’s public relations and marketing department to further expand Allen Associates’ client base into the tristate region. Drawing from his creative experience as Art Director at Philadel-phia-based advertising agency Master-minds, the 26-year-old hopes to continue the tradition of excellent service to the family’s business.

Allen Associates was founded in 1960 by Corey’s grandfather, Stanley H. Allen, who died in 1993 when Corey was just six months old. That year, Richard took over as President and Bob as Senior Vice President.

Corey holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Design and Visual Communications from the University of Delaware. Before Master-minds, Corey worked at [2 One 5] Creative, serving as Freelance Graphic Designer.

Angelic Health Opens Headquarters

Angelic Health cut the ribbon on its headquarters in West Atlantic City section of Atlantic County on Tuesday, celebrating the milestone with community leaders, allied healthcare organizations, and staff. Angelic Health provides personalized palliative, hospice, transitional care, and wound management throughout all of southern New Jersey.

Dan Mikus, Angelic’s CEO noted the company’s growth and its commitment in the community to the patients served. The company has grown from seven employ-ees only 18 months ago to over 200 today, and has expanded services to all of South Jersey and into Central New Jersey.

“We are proud to be able to employ so many great people in our community, and are honored to care for our pa-tients.” said Mikus.

Durwood C. Pinkett, community

relations director for Congressman Jeff Van Drew presented Angelic Health CEO Dan Mikus with a Congressional Procla-mation on behalf of the Congressman. The proclamation recognized Angelic Health’s hospice and palliative care to patients as an “inspiration to all and whose energy and achievement help us a future of hope and promise.”

Cape May County Freeholder Jeffrey Pierson thanked the staff for their dedi-cation to serving hospice and palliative patients including Cape May County residents. “You may be located in Atlan-tic County, but your passion reaches the people of Cape May County as well and we are grateful,” he said.

With panoramic views of the bay and Atlantic City skyline, Angelic Health head-quarters are located on the top floor of Bayport One office building. The company has a branch office in Gloucester County.

Scholarships Awarded to VRDC Dancers

Members of the Vineland Regional Dance Company (VRDC) recently re-turned from the 2019 Regional Dance America Northeast (RDA/NE) Festival with several scholarship recipients and plenty of recognition for the South Jersey area.

On May 24, the VRDC and 10 other RDA member companies converged on Mercyhurst University in Erie, PA, for three days of Master Classes and three evenings of performances. This year, more than 300 dancers, directors, chaperones, faculty, and musicians from the Northeastern United States attended the festival. The VRDC was the only company from New Jersey.

Dancers from member companies are observed by recruiters from colleges and professional training programs; they also audition for awards and scholarships.

Two VRDC dancers were awarded RDA/NE summer scholarships this year: Nicole Cullis of Vineland to Delaware Dance Company and Francesca Viso of Vineland to Philadelphia Dance Theater.

In addition, the Vineland Regional

Dance Company’s Board of Directors provides scholarships to dancers to offset expenses for summer training. They are: Carly Cullinane of Buena, Nicole Cullis of Vineland, Logan Littleton of Clayton, Jes-senia Rivera of Millville, Alyssa Littleton of Clayton, Addison Mancil of Vineland and Jaden Sheppard of Bridgeton.

In celebration of our 18th Comcast Cares Day, more than 11,000 Comcast volunteers rolled up their sleeves at 200+ service projects across the Freedom Region – Greater Philadelphia, New Jersey and Northern Delaware.

From April through mid-May, col-leagues joined community partners at schools, parks, recreation centers, food banks and beaches to paint, pick up litter, landscape, plant community gardens and revitalize these spaces.

In total, more than 120,000 volunteers made a positive impact in 23 coun-tries around the world, doing every-

thing from assembling care packages for U.S. service members and planting in areas struck by natural disasters to teaching digital literacy.

We are so proud of all who joined together for Comcast Cares Day to make a difference in the communities where we live and work.

I welcome you to discover more about Comcast Cares Day and its global impact. You can find more great photos and videos from Comcast Cares Day events across Greater Philadelphia on our Freedom Region Blog or on Twitter, @ComcastPhillyNJ (#ComcastCaresDay).
