✍ PRESIDENT’S MESSAGE ✍

2

Dear Fellow Gardeners,   I hope that you’re deep into your enjoyment of summer and all the good things that it brings. On the hottest days, we need to remember January and be grateful for the heat and light we have now, even if it means quickly multiplying weeds.  By now we can sleep with windows open, swim in the ocean, eat local corn, and admire the echinaceas, daylilies, and other plants flowering in mid-summer.   We typically slow down our lecture program in the summer so that we can all spend more time with our gardens and our guests, but we have a very special program coming up with new author but experienced landscape designer Frederico Azevedo.  See details in the June newsletter.  We also use the summer for local and regional garden tours, so take a look at what we’re offering in terms of a trip to see the magnificent Roberto Burle Marx exhibit at NYBG on July 16.   Happy gardening,   Alicia
