The City of St. Joseph combines many advantages for a MedicalSchool. Highly favored in climate; a railroad center to which linesconverge from nil directions; having an active population of thirtyfive thousand people; surrounded by a country exceedingly fertile andbeautiful, and thickly peopled; all make it a place for a Medical School. Our city is noted throughout the Northwest for its educational institutions. There is situated in its immediate vicinity, State Lunatic AsylumNo.2, where ample facilities will be afforded the tudents of our schoolto study the diseases of the nervous system.
This College was, for these reasons, inaugurated in the Spring of
1877, and its success in the first years of it existence has been greaterthan its founders anticipated, thus demonstrating that this city, from itspeculiar advantageous location is eminently fitted for the successful
operation of a :lIIedical School; and the interest manifested by both themedical /!:entlemen connected with the School, and the students last year,
and correspondence thus far received this season, is a /!:uarantee of certain future success and usefulness in the education of medical gentlemen.
The fourth Regular ",Vinter Se sion will commence Monday, October4th, 1 0, and continue twenty weeks from date of beginning.
The ollege is located on econd street, between Francis and Jule,is a large commodious building, containing fine amphitheatre and dissect
ing convemences. The IIospital Building, under the exclusive control of the Fnculty, is
situated on Antoine street, west of Main, has large and commodious-
