North Transept was erected by
his surviving children to commemorate the long and faith-
-ful ministry of the Revd. Edward Thomas March Phillipps who
was Rector of the Parish for upwards of fifty years. He died July
19th 1859 aged 75 years, and lies beneath.

Near him lie the remains of Elizabeth, his wife, who died April 28th
1861 aged 69 years, their sons, Edward Thomas, who died July
29th 1838 aged 22 years, and Frederick, who died March 23rd
1831 aged 14 years, also their daughter Emma Sophia, who died
May 8th 1849, aged 25 years.
