07 Greater Kashmir SRINAGAR | July 21, 2014, Monday IS ANYBODY LISTENING ? Start bus service We the students of Pakher- pora are facing a lot of problems due to bad transport service on Pakherpora-Pulwama road. The service on this route com- prises of 18 seater Mini Buses, which is grossly inadequate as against heavy rush of travellers. We students alone on this route number more than 500 and in the absence of bus space, we are forced to sit on roofs and hang on the sides of buses. The road is covered by big trees which oſten results in injures to students. We request RTO Pul- wama to look on the maer and start 50-seater bus service on this route. Imtiyaz Khan Students from Pakherpora Bad roads We would like to draw aen- tion of the concerned authori- ties towards the bad condition of our road, which connects three villages Buchoo, Push- nag and Puthar, 5-6 kms from national highway. This road is totally damaged with large pits everywhere. It is so narrow that two vehicles hardly pass at a time on this road. One more problem is overgrown trees and bushes along the sides of the road, which dangerously obstruct the vehicular move- ment. We humbly request the concerned authorities to look into the maer and take regu- latory measures to improve the present condition of our road. Abdul Hamid Buchoo Beggars Everywhere It is quite depressing to watch large number of outside professional beggars freely roaming across length and breadth of Srinagar city par- ticularly near shrines, mosques, temples, educational institutions, hospitals, petrol filling stations and public parks. They often compel people to pay to them. People don’t know how to get rid of this trouble as there is a strong suspicion of an organised mafia behind these beggars. No doubt a human being has to extend a helping hand to deserving per- sons like orphans, destitute or specially-abled persons, but not to those who can easily manage their livelihood. Time demands that both state administration and the people collectively uproot this menace from the valley. Fayaz Ahmed Khan Batamaloo Srinagar. Playground needed The youths of Pinglena Pul- wama have to face a dire situation due to non-availability of a play ground. On the other hand we have large pieces of land which are unused and don’t belong to anyone. Like in Bateh Weard where there is a ground but there are so many trees which create problems during playing. Children play on roads, foothpaths as there is no ground to play. I request the authorities to kindly survey the area and select a suitable land for turning it into a play ground. Qammar-Uz-Zamman Pinglena, Pulwama Expedite selection process We had applied for the post of Computer Operator/Data Entry Operator in Jammu and Kashmir High Court in the year 2007. Last year roll no. slips were issued to the eligible candidates. The examination which was scheduled to be held on May, 2013 was post- poned and till date no exami- nation has been conducted. As we have crossed the age bar, this is our only hope of geing government employ- ment. We therefore request the concerned authorities to look into the maer and expedite the process of selection. Khalid Ahmad Buchpora, Srinagar. Connect drains This is regarding connectivity of drains in Lalbazar area, which was bound to be completed by June, 2014. Till date no such activ- ity is seen in the area of Housing Colony, Lalbazar, with the result macadamisation of internal roads of this area is pending for the last five years. Concerned authori- ties are requested to kindly take necessary initiatives to connect the drains and macdamise the roads at an earliest. Thousands of people are suffering due to these bad roads. Hamid Waheed Lal Bazaar Potholed roads We, the residents of Irmlane, Budshah Nagar, Natipora are suffering from lack of proper drainage system and con- crete roads. The whole colony is potholed, due to which all the residents are facing acute hardships. We had brought the maer to all the concerned authorities and MLA, but noth- ing was done on ground. We request the concerned author- ities to construct the deep drains and improve the condi- tion of the roads at an earliest so that we don’t have to suffer anymore. Irshad Hamid Residents of Irmlane, Budshah Nagar, Natipora Release our salaries The teachers, working under Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan (SSA), have not been paid their salaries for the last four months creating immense problems for them and their families. For some it is their only source of income. The longer and unknown delay, in releasing the salaries, is making it impos- sible for the teachers to arrange for their basic needs like ration, clothes, and school fees of chil- dren, medical expenses, electric- ity and water dues. The financial crisis is even affecting their per- formance as they are unable to focus and that is harming the aca- demic work of the poor students studying under these teachers. Hence, the state government is requested to release the pending salaries of these teachers with immediate effect so that they do not suffer any more. Sheikh Shabir Kulgam Defunct Transformer We, the residents of village Til- agam Bala are facing acute elec- tricity shortage for the last one and a half months due to defunct transformer. The damaged trans- former which was taken to PDD workshop Paan by our youth was returned ten days later without rectifying its fault. The transformer is only 100 KV which is too lile a recipe for about 100 households comprising of three habitations namely Mir, Pandith and Kumar Mohalla. Now, our request to the concerned MLA and department is that the transformer be replaced by a 250 KV or make available another transformer that can take off the extra load.
