Who’s behind #GetPT1st? GetPT1st is led by a group of like-minded PTs dedicated to promoting the profession of physical therapy. We come from all over the U.S. but have the same goal: to educate the public about the critical role PTs play in people’s lives and why they should choose physical therapy first for their aches, pains, sprains, and strains.

Why the hashtag? The hashtag #GetPT1st serves as the gateway to our movement. Clicking on the hashtag within someone’s post leads you to what other people are saying, sharing and posting. The hashtag is a simple but effective way of drawing attention to the cause, so be sure to use it in your posts!

Who is #GetPT1st for? This event is part of a momement for healthcare consumers first and foremost. So many people don’t understand physical therapy or realize all the amazing ways we effect positive change in people’s lives. This event is about sharing success stories — even correcting myths — in our profession.

How can I contribute? Post on your social media sites using the #GetPT1st hashtag — it’s as simple as that! Check out some of the sample posts in this toolkit for ideas on what to share with the world. Not sure where to begin? Start with your story. Why do you love physical therapy? Why do your clients? How does physical therapy improve lives — even the world?
