NAAC SPONSORED SEMINAR ON

“THE CHALLENGED AND REMEDIES IN HIGHER EDUCATIONAL

INSTITUTION OF RURAL AREA IN KARNATAKA (KALABURAGI.)

The seminar entitled “THE CHALLENGED AND REMEDIES IN HIGHER EDUCATIONAL

INSTITUTION OF RURAL AREA IN KARNATAKA (KALABURAGI.) was organised by H.K.E

Society’s., S.S.Margol college of Arts, Science & Commerce Shahabad on 4th and 5the October,

2019. Dr. D.K. Kamble Assistant Advisor, NAAC was the advisor for the seminar. Accordingly

we have consulted Dr. D.K Kamble and requested him to suggest some resource person with

good academic knowledge. He has suggested the names of Dr. Sabanna Talwar, Prof. Of

Economics and IQAC Director Rani Channamma University, Belagavi and Dr. Mahaveer B

Kothale , NAAC Assessor and former Principal, KLE Society’s, GI Bhagewadi College Nippani,

Dr. Mallikarjun Hangargi, Vice Principal & IQAC Coordinator, Karnataka College Bidar, Dr.

R.L.Raibagkar, Professor of Electronics and IQAC Director, Gulbarga University Kalaburagi

and Sri. Rajmohan Paradeshi, Assistant IQAC Coordinator, Karnataka College Bidar were also

called as resource person.

Day one 04th October, 2019

At 09.00AM the registration Team consisting of Dr. Sunita Chinammali, Miss Divya

Naik, Smt. Lalita, Smt. Sumangala, Smt. Parvati, Miss Renuka Badiger, Miss Mamata, Miss

Poornima Kobal and Miss Surekha actively took part in the registration process. There were

nearly 73 members are registered by 10.00AM

Inaugural ceremony was started 30 minutes late in absence of Prof. Parimala

Ambekar Vice Chancellor Incharge, Gulbarga university kalaburagi, President HKE Society,

Kalaburagi, Dr. Bhimashankar C. Bilgundi. In absence of these dignitaries the program was

rescheduled with Dr. D.K.Kamble, Dr. Sabanna Talwar, Dr. Mahaveer B Kothale and our

Governing council member of HKE Society and convenor of the college Sri Anilkumar S

Margol as guest of honour. Principal SSMC as President of the function, the seminar was

Inaugurated by lightning the Lamp by above said dignitaries. Inaugural address was given

by Dr. D.K.Kamble he briefed on the importance of NAAC Accreditation to the present

context and new methodology of NAAC.

SESSION – I started at 12.00 Noon with Dr. D.K. Kamble as Resource person and Dr.

Vijaykumar D, IQAC Coordinator, Dr. Ambedkar Degree College Kalaburagi as chair person.

Resource person spoke on Registration of Higher Education Institutions on the NAAC Portal,

IIQA, Submission of AQAR , Submission of SSR, Data Validation and verification (DVV) and

Students Satisfactory Survey (SSS).

After lunch break, the II Session started at 02.00PM with Dr. Sabanna Talwar, Prof. of

Economics and IQAC Director Rani Channamma University, Belagavi, as resource person and

Dr. T Gurubasappa, IQAC Coordinator Govt. First grade college, Kalaburagi as chair person

Dr. Sabanna Talwar spoke on the curricular aspect and Research and Innovation i.e criteria

I & III. He has clarified about programme, course, certificate course and Diploma and also

how documentation to be done. Research is not major part of affiliated colleges but still U.G.

teachers can contribute towards these were explained.

SESSION -III started at 03.00 PM with Dr. Mahaveer B Kothale , NAAC Assessor and former

Principal, KLE Society’s, GI Bhagewadi College Nippani, as Resource Person and Dr. Rajendra

Konda, Associate Professor and IQAC Coordinator Smt. V.G Women’s College, Kalaburagi. Dr.

Mahaveer Kothale has been requested to take criteria IV & V(Infrastructure & learning

resources - student support and progression). The talk was very practical and interesting.

Every college will take maintenance work such as electrification, plumbing, sanitation and

stationeries. These has to be arranged in a systematic manner and document the work done.

Teaching and Non teaching staff were benefitted by the talk.

Day Two on 05th October 2019 :

Day two begins with SESSION – IV Criterion –II Teaching, Learning and

Evaluation

Dr. Mallikarjun Hangargi, Vice Principal & IQAC

Coordinator, Karnataka College Bidar, as a Resource

Person and Dr. S.B.Gama, Vice Principal and IQAC

Coordinator, B.V.B.College, Bidar as Chair Person. This

session started without any delay and delegates are

very much interested to know about Criterion –II

Teaching, Learning and Evaluation it has highest points

300. He explained about documentation in respect of

Teaching such as commencement of classes, academic

calendar of Events, Teaching Plans, lessons and notes.

Identification of slow learner and advanced learner,

follow up programmes for slow learners, use of ICT as a

tool for teaching and internal examination reforms and

external evaluation work.

Session V was started at 11.45 AM with Prof.

R.L.Raibagker, Professor of Electronics and IQAC

Director, Gulbarga University Kalaburagi, as a resource

Person and Dr. Kaniz Fatima, IQAC Coordinator, Bi Bi

Raza Women’s Degree College, Kalburagi as Chair

Person, Resource Person spoke on Institutional Values

Best Practices – Criterion VII. He said generally we

know about financial auditing but this is not sufficient,

we have to have green auditing and green energy

auditing. Total number of trees and plants, green carpet

areas are to be specified under green auditing. Under

energy auditing the Institution must know a difference

in use of Tube lights, CFLs, bulbs when compared to LED

Lamps, Solar Power generation Units.

Session VI was started post lunch at 1.30pm with

Shri.Rajmohan Pardeshi, Assistant IQAC Coordinator, and

Karnataka College, Bidar as Resource Person and Dr.

Kashinath Birdar, Principal, Govt. First Grade College,

Aland as a chair Person. He delivered the power point

presentation on criterion – VI Governance Leadership and

Management. Various hierarchies used in the governance

of a higher education Institutions. The institutions can

bring good ambience by using NSS volunteers & NCC

cadets. Few members can change entire environment

around us if management supports.

SESSION –VII was Paper Presentation by delegates:

This session with 03.00 PM with Chair Persons Dr. Rajendra Konda Smt. V.G.

Women’s College Kalaburagi, and Dr. Shrikantrao Biradar BVB College Bidar, there were 30

paper submitted to the Seminar out of it 15 are selected to publish in proceedings of the

seminar. 10 members have screened for presentation. Dr. Balabheem P Sangli, Asst. Prof. in

English, Govt. First Grade College, Madanahipparga presented a paper on Role of Teachers in

fostering higher education institutions and awarded as best paper presenter.

Valedictory Function started at 04.00 PM with chief guest Dr. R.L.Raibagkar, Professor of

Electronics and IQAC Director, Gulbarga University Kalaburagi and Dr. A.R.Koppalkar

Principal of the college as President of this function in absence of Dr. Shivanand S

Devarmani, Vice President of HKE society, Kalaburagi, feed back of the two days seminar

was taken as a token Dr. Sangappa Hosamani, Principal S.P College Shorapur and Dr. Frzana

Associate Prof. in Zoology and NAAC coordinator Smt. V.G.Women’s College Kalaburagi,

both of them expressed good opinion about all the sessions and also hospitality of the

college. Best paper presenter award and certificate distribution was carried out. The

seminar was closed with high tea.
