···· Contracted physicians or providers accept the amounts we pay for services. They accept this"allowable" amount as full payment for covered benefits. That means you only have to payyour deductible, co-payments and co-insurance charges for services that are not covered onyour plan.

when you receive emergency care.

Tips on Using a Primary-care Provider (PCP):

Not all plans use a PCP. If you are enrolled in a plan that requires a PCP, the followinginformation may be helpful.

You'll receive convenient, personal care from your PCP. PCPs provide regular medical care andrefer you for specialty, emergency and hospital care. You may select a different PCP for eachcovered family member, or the entire family may choose the same PCP.

When choosing a PCP, you may select from the following types of providers:

···· Family Practice: These physicians care for the entire family from infancy to adulthood.They have expertise in women's health, pediatric and well child care, sports medicine andpreventive medicine.

···· Internal Medicine: These physicians specialize in adult health care. This includespreventive medicine, women's health and geriatric services. Internists also specialize inmanaging complex and chronic (ongoing) medical conditions.

···· Pediatricians: These physicians care for children from birth through adolescence. Theirservices include well child care, acute and chronic illness, behavioral health and minororthopedics.

···· Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioners (ARNP): The advanced training ARNPs haveallows them to be a part of a health-care team. They provide basic medical services andcoordinate treatment of chronic or acute care under a physician's supervision.

Most PCPs belong to a group practice or clinic and have certain specialists they refer patients to.This may mean that a specialist, hospital or other facility you want to go is not in your PCP'sgroup, clinic or referral base.
