Escaped Prisoners. 263. The undermentioned native prisoners escaped
from Mount Wittenoom lockup on the 7th ult., viz., — Ichunga, Birinoo, Thaltharangoo, Mugabean, Eelgourah, Bardingooroo, and Nanthagooroo. Took with them 4 native chains, 6 pair handcuffs and 2 padlocks.

Officers in charge of Sub-Districts will cause immediate inquiry to be made for the undermentioned person, viz., John McEvoy, exp., late 2462,—slight, age 61 years, 5ft. 3jin. high, black hair turning grey, grey eyes, sallow complexion, top of forehead bald, who left William Forrest's station, Blackwood, on the morning of the 3rd inst., in the direction of James Scott's, a distance of nine miles, and has not since been heard of. When last seen was attired in light
hat, Crimean shirt, and hob-nailed of inquiries to Detective Office,

MAN MISSING, SUPPOSED TO HAVE BEEN MUEDEEED.
Whereas, on Sunday, the 28th day of January, 1883, a man named Joseph HiUery disappeared from his farm at Chetwynd, and has not since been traced; And whereas there is reason to fear that the said Josei)h Hillerv has been murdered: Notice is hereby given that a" reward of fifty pounds will be paid by the Government for information leading to the discovery of the said Joseph HiUery if alive, and, if murdered, an additional sum of one hundred and fifty pounds for such information as will lead to the conviction of the murderer or murderers.
The Governor will also extend Her Majesty's Free Pardon to an accomplice giving the required information, provided such informant did not actually commit the murder.

PAETICULAES TO AID DISCOYEEY. Description.—English, about 48 years of age, 5ft.
5 or 6in. high, dark complexion, dark hair, beard, whiskers, and moustache turning grey. When last seen the missing man was wearing a black felt hat, a sti-iped Crimean or checked shirt, a pair of dark striped moleskin troswers, and an old pair of Blucher boots. The following clothes, which he generally wore, are missing from his house :—Black felt hat, dark blue diagonal paget coat (marked with a stripe of paint across the back), striped moleskin trowsers, and Blucher boots, the latter much worn.
