LEARNING TORAH, LOVING TORAH, LIVING TORAH
Dear Parents and Friends,
– Gavriel, the King has left the Palace.
– Oh, yes, it’s that time of year. The King goes out and
about the people and waits for them to seek Him out.
– What an unusual King: to go to the people and beseech
them to come close to Him!
– Well, we know He is not an ordinary King. He loves His
subjects more than any King I have ever seen.
– That is true, but do they love Him and show their
unwavering loyalty to Him?
– That is not such an easy question to answer. The King has
had a long history with His subjects, and they know that
ultimately He is the only one they can count on.
– But so many times they have disappointed Him! Yet, He
always forgives them. They just have to ask.
– They are most fortunate that He seeks them out and gives
them the opportunity to correct the errors of their ways.
– Oh, I am sure they are working to mend their ways. After
all, this is when the King sits in His court and judges the
people. Will they be rewarded or will there be retribution?
Will they seek His forgiveness with love for their Sovereign?
– Why don’t we take a look around and see what is
happening among the villagers?
– Yes, I am quite curious. You know, it has been a difficult
year for the King’s constituency.
– Oh, I know it Compliance is not always easy for them, and
there have been several new mandates which they are
obligated to follow.
– See, that man standing in the corner? His whole body is
trembling, and the tears are flowing like rivulets down his
face. I can’t hear what he is saying, but I do hear the words
such as “beseech”, “mercy”, “your Majesty”.
– It looks like He is having an intense conversation with the
King. It looks like he is experiencing great challenges.
- We have a very benevolent King who measures out
compassion and kindness liberally.
– Yes, He does. Without that compassion and kindness, I
don’t know how His subjects would survive all of their trials
and tribulations.
– Oh, my! Do you see those two people arguing? It must
have something to do with money. That is usually the major
source of conflict among the people. If only they would
understand that it is the King who doles out each person’s
livelihood. So many relationships have been needlessly
broken by the power attributed to monetary wealth.
– You are so correct. Perhaps these two will settle their
argument between themselves or go to the Beis Din. It
pains His Majesty to see His people in strife. He is the King
but acts like a Father who desires to see His children live in
peace with one another.
– If only they would remember that whenever a
disagreement begins to turn into a raging storm, Hashem’s
sadness is profound.
– That is why His Majesty comes close to His Monarchy so
they will become more aware and introspective of their
actions.
– Gavriel, look down there. Rather, listen. Do you hear what
I am hearing?
– You mean those beautiful voices of children davening and
learning? Of course, I hear them; they are the succor for the
very dark and difficult times the subjects have to experience.
– If only they would know that the King is waiting for them
to return to Him without reservation. I know that the day
will soon come. They will recognize the King’s Sovereignty;
they will all be His loyal subjects, and they will serve Him for
all the world to see and rejoice.
It is time to go back, Gavriel. They are all gathering
together. It is Rosh Hashana, they are all bedecked in finery
raising their voice in love for their King – His Majesty. It is
the day of His Coronation, a truly glorious event!

On 9/11/2020, Mr. Ryan taught every class at PHA about the tragedy of 9/11/2009. Nineteen years later….
On September 11, 2020, we did a pictorial review of the events leading up to the events onSeptember 11, 2001. The theme that was used was a typical day. We witnessed pictures ofpeople going through their typical day, such as a pamphlet on candidates running forvarious local offices in New York City's Primary Day. We saw pictures of flight attendantswho worked on one of the downed planes (Flight 11). We saw a voting booth with postersof the missing on them. We saw pictures of students heading out to California with theirteacher on Flight 173 We even saw how the terrorists, dressed like typical businesstravelers, were able to get through airport security with no problems. Students wereshown the seating charts of all four downed planes to get a feel for how a typical day fortravelers onboard those flights turned into a tragic event. We mentioned how somepassengers onboard Flight 93 gave up their lives by attacking the terrorists and forcing theplane to crash in Pennsylvania instead of Washington, D.C. like Flight 77 had done.
Mr. Ryan
Flight Attendant Betty Ann Chung, alerts American Airlines reservation employees to the hijacking of Flight 11 and that the crew is unable to contact the cockpit.

Third Grade Boys
Rabbi Rich distributed coins to
all the third grade boys, each
hoping to get the "full silver"
coin just like the one that
Avrohom Avinu used to pay
Efron for Me’aras
Hamachpaila.
Some coins were gold, and
others were silver with a hole in
it.
The lucky boy was
Yehudah Leib Dopiro, who got to keep his coin.
