+What we are

Solve-It! Community Mediation Service is a service devoted almost entirely to teaching people to communicate with one another. Our mission is to raise awareness of productive problem-solving by providing facilitation and mediation at the community level, and educational training and outreach in conflict resolution skills to all who could benefit.

We are program of The Leadership Centre, founded in 1998.

We are funded primarily via service contracts with municipalities: Apache Junction, Gilbert, Queen Creek

We are service-oriented and based upon the principles of effective communication.

Our Board of Directors: a diverse group of individuals dedicated to supporting and promoting productive conflict resolution practices

Our Staff: extensive background, education and training in conflict resolution techniques, including published articles on the topic

Our volunteers: the backbone of our organization, the pool of over 140 volunteers donate their time to help their neighbors and community members resolve conflict.

Our Services include: Mediation Large Group/Small Group/Public Forum Facilitation One-on-One Conflict Coaching Series of 3-Hour Skill-Building Workshops geared towards

professionals 40-Hour Basic Mediation Training (the first mediation

training program in the country approved and certified by the National Association for Community Mediation)

+What it costs:

Case Development Consultation: $25.00 flat fee

Mediation Session (up to four hours with three highly skilled volunteer mediators): $40.00 flat fee

Small Group Facilitation, 6-12 people (2 facilitators): $40.00/hour

Large Group/Public Forum Facilitation (2-3 facilitators): $75.00/hour

One-on-One Conflict Coaching: starts at $75.00/hour

3-Hour Skill Building Workshops, min. 8 people: $500 flat fee

40-Hour Mediation Training: $500.00/person, scholarships available

Customized workshops/trainings: call for a quote

98% success rate of people coming to agreements in mediation that they are still adhering to in 6-month follow-ups

Over 2700 East Valley residents trained in conflict resolution skills since 2003

Over 1800 calls for service during the 2010-2011 FY
