CLONING… IS IT A BLESSING OR CURSE?

Cloning – it is a process of reproduction of an exact copy of

an animal or a plant, that scientists produce from one of

its cells.

• The really first cloning was made in 1892 by Guns Dreysh.

• He cloned a sea urchin.• Then in 1996 sheep Dolly was cloned. She was

cloned in 1996 by Yan Wilmut and Kate Campbell.• In 2002 Duan Cremer cloned a kitten Rainbow.

The clone of the kitten had a name CC ( from Carbon Copy). CC was different colour and it was more playful and inquisitive than Rainbow. The symbol of first cloning

mammal is a lamb Dolly.

Every year 150 000 people need transplantation ( it’s only in developed countries).

In West Europe every year 15%-30% ill people die because of shortage of donors.

10-15 000 operations for transplantation are done in U.S.A. every year.

One of the biggest problems nowadays is extinction of many species of animals and plants.

For all people’s existence human destroyed from 1000 kinds of animal’s world.

People think that cloning can reduce extinct animals and plants .

Example dodo

About 900 species of animals, plants and birds have died out for last two centuries.

There are 247 kinds of animals and 533 kinds of plants in the Red Book

About 100 000 people die because of different disasters and accidents (only in our country).

About 1000 children die or lose every month.

Only in Moscow about 4000 people lose every year.

Is there a reason to fear that cloning will lead to a nightmare world?

Arguments Against

A majority of Catholic Church is against cloning.

They justify it that we mustn’t add in affairs of God.

They say: “if something happened so it was able to come true so people mustn’t correct past. It’s a destiny……”

We don’t know what quantity of animals and plants of any species we need?

We can clone too many whales, tigers or flowers.

Don’t we break natural balance?

Albert Einstein - general and special theories of relativity.

Isaac Nuton – The low of attraction, the low of the gravitation.

Aleksandr Pushkin – “Evgeniy Onegin”, “Ruslan and Lyudmila”, “Boris Godunov”.

Cloning can be used for coping criminals and even the whole army!

It can cause global robbers, attacks, terrors and lead to the next World War!

We have shown you two sides of cloning. On the one hand it helps people and

sometimes even irreplaceable. But on the other hand it can become the

worst human’s enemy.

What will be in the future? We don’t know, nobody knows. How it will develop, it stays a big mystery…
