ThisworkisoneofapairofOudrydrawingsfoundintheSchwabingArtTrove.TheotherislistedasChiendevantunchevreuilmort(Dogguardingadeadfallowdeer),(LostArtID:478414).BothdrawingswereexhibitedattheGalerieCharpentierinParisin1943.Theexhibitioncataloguedoes not identify the owner of the two works. The extant papers of Galerie Charpentier, aspreserved by the Bibliothèque Kandinsky in Paris, do not give further details of the lender.Althoughitisratherlikelythatbothdrawingssharethesamepre-warprovenance,itappearsthatthepairwassubsequentlyseparated.
