NVDPL ReCyCLeS!We diverted 67 per cent of Library waste from the landfill in 2011!
Since its inception in 2009, North Vancouver District Public Library’s staff green team has worked hard to increase the Library’s recycling.
Through increased signage for recycling bins, a “get rid of it responsibly” campaign to recycle plastics not accepted in blue bins, and regular waste audits to monitor recycling levels, the green team’s efforts have paid off, resulting in the Library diverting 67 per cent of its waste from the landfill in 2011.
Looking to practise sustainability yourself? Know that just by borrowing a book from the Library, or purchasing a gently used book from one of our book sales, you are doing the environment a favour. Feel good about borrowing!
NVDPL staff green team members in front of the Library’s latest recycling pick up. At the beginning of 2011 the Library started recycling plastics the Library generates operationally.
