ROAD SHOW 2014

In 2014 the Road Show #Weareinpuglia will be in the main European cities connected with direct flights to the region: this is a program of promotional events aimed at communicating the Puglia brand to an international audience.

The aim of the Road Show is, therefore, to make known Puglia as a tourist destination: an opportunity for the entire regional tourism system and all its segments operating throughout the Puglia territory.

The public can experience at first hand flavors, fragrances, images, sounds, music and traditions in the Puglia Village, an exhibition area of approximately 250sq set up in the most bustling squares of each city.

The Village will also give the opportunity to Airline Companies, Tour Operators and Travel Agents to promote and commercialize travel offers.

Puglia will not only tour the streets but will be inother city locations as well, thanks to Puglia Soundswhich will organize live concerts and showcases, and We are (made) in Puglia events in co-branding with companies, associations and cultural operators from Puglia.

Eligible to participate in this Roadshow promotion alongside Pugliapromozione are:

a. Tour Operators and Travel agents with commercial networks abroad

b. airline Companies that provide direct flight connections with the airports of Puglia

c . public Structures that promote tourism in Puglia

In 2013 Pugliapromozione has organized a communication campaign #Weareinpuglia to make our region be known in foreign markets as a destination for authentic “experiences”.

This year’s campaign of #Weareinpuglia, running from March to June, will feature new subjects and pictures taken by Nikon photographers. The focus will be on the Tourism products, such as Nature & Sports, Food & Wine, Romance, Culture and Entertainment.

This campaign will be launched in those European cities connected with Puglia by direct flights, and will include outdoor advertising via large format billboards and banners to be placed in subways and on buses, as well as advertising inserts in both paper and online travel magazines. In 2014 the whole campaign #Weareinpuglia will be also characterized by an action of co-promotion tied to a musical set in Puglia, “Walking on sunshine”, which will be performed for the first time in London as part of the Puglia Road Show.

Events and activities pUGliA villAGE

Puglia Village will be set up in the main squares of European cities that will host the Roadshow.This is an area where the public can learn about our culture, our handicraft and culinary traditions. Every day, we will offer a rich program of free activities for both adults and children.

You will have the opportunity to taste our specialties, learn how to prepare ‘’orecchiette’’ and ‘’taralli’’ by hand, get to know the Mediterranean herbs and the way to use them for cooking delicious dishes; taste our wines and our oil; dance to the sound of the ‘’Pizzica’’ guided by expert dancers and try your hand at the tambourine.

Even children can discover our traditions through artifacts made using natural and recycled materials. There will also be concerts and DJ sets.

We will define a daily schedule for all the already planned events. The Village Puglia operates throughout the day as an ’’interactive installation’’ capable of drawing the passerby’s attention.

pUGliA SOUNdSThe destination Puglia will also be promoted through our rich musical heritage – one of Puglia’s big attractors – which in recent years has proven to be a major protagonist on both national and international music scene.

Puglia Sounds, Puglia Regional Program for the promotion of music, will organize live concerts and showcases for journalists and international distributors in important locations or as part of prestigious festivals and music events.

VILLAGGIO PuGLIAIl Villaggio Puglia sarà presente nelle principali piazze delle città

europee in cui si svolgerà il Road Show.

Sarà il luogo in cui il pubblico potrà vivere la nostra cultura e le

nostre tradizioni, gastronomiche, artigianali, culturali: ogni gior-

no, infatti, è previsto un denso programma di attività gratuite

per adulti e bambini.

Si potranno degustare le nostre specialità gastronomiche. Si

potrà imparare a preparare orecchiette e taralli, a conoscere le

spezie mediterranee e ad utilizzarle in cucina; si potranno sco-

prire e degustare i nostri vini e i nostri oli; ballare a suon di

pizzica guidati da danzatrici esperte o provare a suonare il tam-

burello.

Ancora, i bimbi scopriranno le nostre tradizioni attraverso la re-

alizzazione di manufatti con materiali naturali e riciclati.

Sono previsti inoltre concerti e dj set.

È in fase di definizione un palinsesto giornaliero di tutti gli even-

ti programmati.

Il Villaggio Puglia funzionerà per tutto il giorno come una “in-

stallazione interattiva” in grado di catturare l’attenzione dei

passanti.

The Road Show represents therefore an opportunity for Puglia Tourism industry and its segments, Culture, Creativity, Food and Wine, to gain visibility on an international level.

MEETiNGS ANd WORKShOpS B2BThe Road Show will also be a chance for B2B meetings and networking with professionals and the press. In this regard, at each stop there will be dedicated areas inside the Puglia Village as well as in other sites around the city.

WE ARE (MAdE) iN pUGliANetworking meetings, theatre performances, promotion of new cycle and motorcycle routes, music festivals and presentation of gastronomic products: all this and much more awaits you at our Road Show, in our Puglia Village and in the many other locations around the city.

Puglia operators have been invited through a public notice to submit proposals for events aimed at the promotion of innovative/creative products in co-promotion with Puglia tourist brand.

Gli operatori pugliesi sono stati invitati con un avviso pubblico

a presentare proposte di eventi finalizzati alla promozione di

prodotti innovativi e/o creativi in co-promotion con il brand

turistico della Puglia.

Il Road Show è quindi una occasione di visibilità per tutta la filiera

turistica, culturale, creativa, enogastronomica della regione.

a. AiRliNE COMpANiESAirline companies can participate for free, provided that they promote and offer travel deals with Puglia as destination.

Pugliapromozione will make available on request a custom desk.

The Road Show therefore gives to Airline Companies the opportunity to conduct sales activities inside the Village.

Howto participate

b. iNCOMiNG TOUR OpERATORSIncoming Tour Operators, or their foreign counterparts, can participate for free in one or more stops of the Road Show for three or more days by accessing the Destination Management System (DMS), within the time limits specified in the website reserved area.

There are 2 ways of participation:1. By sending the catalogues in the original language2. By using a custom desk (maximum of 5 operators per each day of the Road Show) for the promotion and commercialization to the final consumer.

c. REGiONAl pUBliC BOdiES FOR TOURiST pROMOTiONMunicipalities, provinces, GAL, Chamber of Commerce and all other public bodies whose aim is the promotion of the territory can take part in the Road Show and propose to Pugliapromozione to include in its schedule of activities other events or initiatives.In order to optimize the resources it can be agreed with Pugliapromozione the use of shared facilities (equipment, hostesses, technical service etc. )

Proposals should be submitted no later than 30 days before the event.
