THE WORLD’S OIL RESERVES
OIL TRADE
OIL The U.S gets about 20% of it’s
oil from the Middle East. Saudi Arabia can produce over
10 million barrels a day at $140 ($1,400,000,000 per day)
Most of the exports go to Asia.
OPEC Organization of the Petroleum
Exporting Countries “The OPEC MCs coordinate their
oil production policies in order to help stabilize the oil market and to help oil producers achieve a reasonable rate of return on their investments.”
WHO BENEFITS? Oil-producing countries benefit
directly in the form of high export profits.
The non oil-producing states receive benefits from their oil-producing neighbors.
BENEFITS OF M.E. OIL As a result of this wealth, enormous
social achievements have occurred.Infant mortality was halved, and life
expectancy rose by more than ten years.
