Next, lets listen to the speech.speech Create your own words using the root words from your 2 nd list! A verb is a word that expresses action or being. The main word in the predicate of a sentence is a verb. EX: Garth talks constantly about the Middle Ages. An action verb tells what the subject does, did, or will do. EX: Many tourists visit castles in Europe. A linking berg links the subject of a sentence with a word in the predicate that describes the subject. EX: Garths stories about castles are wonderful. 1) Pirates left Lord and Lady Greystroke on a primitive island. 2) Lady Greystroke, a young and intelligent woman, felt challenged. 3) Together they made a sturdy cabin out of hand-hewn logs and clay. 4) One day, a large leopard surprised Lord Greystroke in the woods.
