United Kingdom – Part 2
Lesson 1
2 Samuel 13:1 – 14:24
Review
• What was the sin (that we just studied in II Samuel 12) that set up a number the events we will be studying this quarter?
• How did David react when he was approached by Nathan?
• Did God forgive David?
• Were the consequences removed with the forgiveness?
Consequences• 2 Sa 12:11 Thus says the Lord, ‘Behold, I will raise up evil
against you from your own household; I will even take your wives before your eyes and give them to your companion, and he will lie with your wives in broad daylight.
• 12 Indeed you did it secretly, but I will do this thing before all Israel, and under the sun.’”
• 14 However, because by this deed you have given occasion to the enemies of the Lord to blaspheme, the child also that is born to you shall surely die.”
• Sword Will Never Depart from Your House• Evil Raised Up from Your Own Family• Wives will be Taken By a Close Companion• The Child Born to Bathsheba will Die

Lessons• Life after sin. Even when your sin is forgiven.• Consequences still exist!
• Does sin really make you happy?
• Should our own previous sin change the way we deal with sin in others?• Difference in David’s reaction when confronted with
his sin vs. David’s reaction to Amnon’s sin
• What can we learn about the advice of our friends?• Should it align with God’s desires or our own?
