Dear Families of St. Mary’s Catholic School, We gathered Friday in Bishop Baraga Auditorium for our virtue education program with the 7/8 th graders leading us through song, skit, and the virtue - responsibility. Thank you Mr. Guevara, Ms. Pianosi, and 7/8 th grade class for leading the way. We will be looking to catch students being responsible throughout the month. Two of our 8 th graders started off straight away with being responsible by collecting garbage from the classrooms Friday afternoon. See photo below. Thank you Elizabeth and Tessa! The skits and songs our students put together, with Mr. Guevara, for our virtue program are very imaginative, fun, prayerful, and worthy of sharing. We would very much like to share with you the recordings of our school’s virtue education program. At the Catholic Identity Committee meeting we discussed best practices and ways of reaching our school families and came to the consensus that posting them on our school website might be the best way. Please see the enclosed permission form referring directly to recording and posting the virtue skits/songs; Mr. Guevara and I have taken precaution to not use student names during the sessions as an added measure of personal privacy. If you have questions, please contact me. Thank you. Wednesday is Walk to School Day. Mrs. Bauer will once again be walking with me, starting under the pavilion on the corner of Ashmun and Portage at 7:45 a.m. Any students and parents wishing to join us please do so. Progress Reports will be issued Wednesday. As progress reports only reflect scores halfway through the marking period, there is plenty of time for scores to be raised if necessary. If you have any questions about your child’s progress, please contact your child’s teacher. Thank you. All teachers and staff received a St. Mary’s t-shirt from our HASA. Thank you, President Andrea Schwab, and all members of HASA - members include all parents/guardians of our students, so we thank all of you! Dear Families of St. Mary’s Catholic School,

We gathered Friday in Bishop Baraga Auditorium for our virtue education program with the 7/8th graders leading us through song, skit, and the virtue - responsibility. Thank you Mr. Guevara, Ms. Pianosi, and 7/8th grade class for leading the way. We will be looking to catch students being responsible throughout the month. Two of our 8th graders started off straight away with being responsible by collecting garbage from the classrooms Friday afternoon.

Friday is a professional development day for teachers; thus, there will not be school on October 6th.

Note: After school pick-up lane on north side of the building: If you have someone else picking up your children after school, i.e. grandparents, babysitters, etc., please be sure they are aware of our routine. Students are not to be released to vehicles beyond the telephone pole to the west of the school driveway. Once students are safely in vehicles, vehicles pull away which then allows the next vehicle to pull all the way down, beyond the cross walk in order to once again let as many vehicles as possible line up to receive students. Please encourage your children to get right into the vehicle, buckle-up, then converse with the driver - some children are stopping and chatting with the driver through the window, which of course forces everyone else to wait. Although this time of year this isn’t such a big deal, it will be on rainy days and/or as the weather turns colder. Please be considerate of all of our families! Thank you!

God bless, October is the month of the Holy Rosary.
