1. Unanimously approved minutes from the March 22, 2017 meeting as written.

2. Old Business/Actions since previous meeting

Darcie reviewed the due out listing; nothing significant to report. Suicide Prevention Academy – Alison passed until later in the meeting. Joe briefed he continues to add new information to the website. What events do we want

placed on the website. Example: Patriot Guard August event for Fallen Families; yes place on website and use best discretion.

Currently 35 communities. McVille is the most recent city. All certificates, except Fargo, have been presented. Fargo is scheduled for the 17th of July.

New marketing material has been received. MOUT received lanyard and cell phone holders. Darcie briefed we are in contract with the Broadcasters Association to run Public Service

Announcements. Will need to renew contract for the new biennium. The last biennium report shows as of April we received a 281% return on our investment. Contract will be for another year with an option year depending on budget.

Business update: working Dakota Awards, Eide Baily, Minot State University and Fortis. Meeting scheduled with Fortis later in July.

ISFAC update; Darcie briefed regional ISFAC’s are being executed under a different title. Example being the McLean County Interagency Meeting. Dickinson held an ISFAC meeting which was well attended. Need to continue getting the Veterans Service Groups involved. Need to get the word out that if issues cannot be solved at the Regional level; ND Cares can assist with elevating issues to higher level.

3. Reports/Updates

Suicide Prevention Briefed under 5. New Business.

4. ND Cares Membership Discussed adding an ACOVA member to the Executive Committee. Darcie discussed how ND

Cares could benefit from the ACOVA in an effort to understand their strategic plan or vision and that of the Service Organizations. Questions were raised to why we need to add to our

Executive Committee. ACOVA would receive information about ND Cares. Question was raised as to why not submit a formal notice, to ACOVA, to present at our meeting instead of membership; somewhere between all or nothing(membership). Chairperson requests trying the education piece for the next 6 months with additional outreach.

5. New Business Teresa Larsen, Protection and Advocacy (P&A), briefed their mission. Requested ND Cares

submit and individual to fill an open position on their Committee on Protection and Advocacy. The Executive Committee will consider this request and reply to Teresa by Aug 1st.

Strategic Planning Session scheduled for 14 September conducted by Michelle Cleary from SAMHSA. What guidance do we want to provide to Michelle:

-Provide where we are today and where we have been prior to her arrival-Provide timeline prior to her arrival-Build on current priorities-Provide updated databook-Board/Coalition membership-Review original Strategic Plan and current priorities-Request she identify services available to us through SAMHSA
