Brian Phillips, Fitness Facility Coordinator About me: I have been surrounded by the sports and fitness world as long as I can remember. I started swimming at an early age knowing nothing about my mom’s secret efforts to help my asthma. Thanks mom! Along with swimming, the other sports I have played competitively include football, tennis, racquetball, and bowling. The sports I enjoy playing on a “non-competitive-because-I-am-no-good-at-it” basis include golf, basketball, volleyball, squash, and baseball. Although I have always enjoyed sports, I never really understood the importance of peoples’ physical health until I was in college. It was then that I decided to focus on healthy living in order to help myself, family, friends, and community. Hometown: I grew up in Oklahoma City but attended school in Harrah,Oklahoma. How long at the University Health Club: I have been working at the University Health Club since January 2006. Hobbies and interests: I enjoy playing sports such as racquetball, tennis, basketball, bowling, football, etc. I enjoy the fitness classes that I get to teach at the University Health Club. I also like to watch movies, eat out at new places, and hang out with my friends and family. You know…the normal stuff! Favorite thing to eat: Pizza with everything on it! Favorite time of year: Fall; mainly because of the mild weather, but also because of football season!
