Summer Holiday Programme 2016:
Please find enclosed Simply Play @ East Calder Summer Programme for 2016.
Club contact numbers - 01506 880473/ 07753471969Sessions half day - 7.30 -1pm or 1-6pm £1 7.10Full Day session 7.30-6pm £ 27.80
The programme was created in consultation with the children at East Calder and Kirknewton after school clubs; we strive to promote a child centred approach as much as possible. Children attend the club in their free time therefore we try to make their time here as fun and enjoyable as possible and we aim to follow their lead on activities and play throughout the day.The children will have the opportunity to take part in a wide balance and variety of activities along with those on the plan such as sports, construction play, role play, board games, parachute games and lots of outdoor play. We aim to be outside with the children as much as possible and on very nice days we will take tables, chairs, art activities, games etc out too.
Children must be booked in for holiday sessions through the online booking system; spaces are very limited during the holidays. Children who are not booked in and turn up on a day may be turned away causing upset for the child.
Trips Pricing for all trips will be £6 per child, thanks to Simply Play
subsidising the programme. Trips must be paid for in advance by telephoning office staff at Head Office.
If your child is going on a planned day trip please ensure you have signed the permission form and paid any additional fee. Please do not give your child additional cash for treats on trips. This can cause upset and arguments between the children.
Trips- For morning trips please ensure the children are at East Calder by 9.00 am, afternoon trips by 1.00 pm; this is to
allow us to get away on time. Please do not allow the children to bring any extra money on trips.
Please note that trips may be subject to change depending on weather and children’s needs and interests. Parents will be informed of any changes on the day.
PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE READ!!!!!!Can we ensure that your child has the following when attending on holiday days:
Sunscreen, which is clearly labelled with your child’s name. Appropriate clothing for trips, outings and outdoor play &
sports activities, including comfortable, appropriate footwear.Sun hats and sunglasses as we are hoping for lots of sunshine!! For those days when we aren’t so lucky, rain jackets and wellies as we are aiming to be outside as much as possible.
Children to wear old clothes as children will be doing lots of messy activities and a change of clothes for your child in case of getting wet.
Please ensure you sign your child in on arrival and out at pick up.
Please ensure the club has up to date contact information and allergy/medical information. Particularly if you do not normally use Simply Play East Calder club.
All activities have been risked assessed; by booking your child in for the session you are giving permission for your child to take part in the activities.
A packed lunch if attending all day sessions. Please provide a cold packed lunch for your child (we cannot heat up foods). We provide healthy morning and afternoon snacks.
Remember appropriate clothing for trips, outings and outdoor play & sports activities (wellies and a change of clothing is always handy everyday). PLEASE ON TRIP DAYS PROVIDE YOUR CHILD WITH A WATER BOTTLE OR A DRINK IN A BOTTLE WITH A SCREW TOP. We do take water on trips but there is only so much that we can carry and packet drinks do not always quench a child’s thirst and have to be drank all in one go. Please no fizzy cans – thanks.
Please be aware that face paints, make-up, nail varnish & hair products may be used during activities. If you do not want your child to have these products applied then please inform staff.
If your child is going on a planned day trip please ensure you have signed the permission form and paid any additional fee on arrival. Please note that trips may be subject to change depending on weather and other circumstances.
The children will have the opportunity to take part in a wide balance and variety of activities along with those on the plan such as expressive arts, crafts, sports, construction play, role play, small world, lap tops, x-box, board games, parachute games and lots and lots of outdoor play.
Plans will be flexible to meet the needs of the children and in the event of any changes, children will be consulted of these plans and necessary amendments made.
Wet play is exactly what it says – WET!!!! Please provide your child with a change of clothes/appropriate footwear and a towel.
Thanks
