Open TextHELP on the library computers from the Swansea Universtiy Unified Desktop:

Folder : Assistive Technology

Progran : Read and Write 9

The program will open with the toolbar at the top of your screen:

If your toolbar doesn’t look like this, click on the textHELP logo, until it does

Highlighting and Collecting Key Points from your Research

1. Highlighting Key Points

If you find cutting and pasting key points from your research you may find the Study Skills options in textHELP helpful.

By clicking on the highlighter icons you are able to highlight key information from your research in four different colours.

2. Collecting Highlighted Data

Once you have highlighted the key information, you are able to create a new document including just this data:

Select the double arrows next to the textHELP Icon Select ‘Collect Highlights’

You can choose a number of options:

Select what colour highlights to collect (or collect all highlights) Change how the highlights are ordered Choose a bibliography style

NOTE: please check this matches the format required by your department

3. Exporting Data

Once you have selected your options from the above menu, press ok. A new word document is created, including reference material.
