Victorian Notice to MarinersThe following Notice to Mariners is published for general information.

BASS STRAIT – SOUTH GIPPSLAND
Date: EFFECTIVE IMMEDIATELY
Details:Mariners are advised of geotechnical survey operations being undertaken by Furgo Australia Marine for approximately from 13 May to 31 July 2019, in Bass Strait south of Wilsons Promontory extending south into Commonwealth waters (see attached map of location and survey area coordinates).
The vessel ‘MV Silver Star’ undertaking this work will be limited in its ability to manoeuvre and will be deploying geotechnical equipment from the stern. It is recommended that all other vessels keep a minimum 500 m clearance of the vessel at all times.
MV Silver Star (call sign VJD3650) will be displaying appropriate day shapes and India over Romeo (I/R) flags. Mariners should maintain a listening watch on VHF channel 16. Operations will be conducted on a 24-hour basis.
