5. Course Evaluation System

A competency based grading or assessment is recommended. The two grading codes are:CO = CompetentNYC = Not Yet CompetentCompetency assessment is based on the actual skills and knowledge that a person can demonstrate in the workplace or other contexts. A theoretical assessment such as an exam checks a person’s knowledge only – it verifies that they know something. However, there is there is no requirement to demonstrate knowledge and skills. Competency based assessment tests a person’s ability to be able to do something so is more suited to vocational based training.

National Construction Code, statutory and regulatory requirements and Australian standards for the design of sound attenuated hydraulic services are analysed and applied.

Manufacturer requirements and trade and technical manuals are interpreted.

Factors that contribute to quality, safety and time efficiency are determined.

Additional research, including a desktop study, is conducted to outline design parameters.

Performance requirements are established, considering safety of system users or building occupants.

2. Plan and detail

Causes of noise generation in hydraulic services are identified and analysed.

system components

Layout of sound-attenuated pipework systems is planned.

System calculations are performed for a range of sound attenuated hydraulic services.

Pumped hydraulic systems are sound attenuated. Pipe supports are designed for a range of applications. Approved materials and installation requirements for

sound attenuated hydraulic services are specified.3. Design and

size systems.

Sound attenuated hydraulic services are designed and sized for a range of applications.

Material combinations are identified and documented to achieve sound attenuation requirements.

Pump installations are sound attenuated. Sound attenuated hydraulic services are designed and

evaluated using calculations and computer software packages.

Sustainability principles and concepts are applied throughout the design process.

4. Prepare documentation.

Client brief of the desired design is prepared. Plans and specifications are prepared for a range of

sound attenuated hydraulic services. Report on sound attenuated hydraulic services for a

range of applications is prepared. Testing and commissioning schedule is prepared. Operation and maintenance manual is produced,

including information on how to properly and safely maintain the system.

Level 4Title Manage operational planAbstract This unit describes the performance outcomes, skills and

knowledge required to develop and monitor implementation of the operational plan to provide efficient and effective workplace practices within the organisation's productivity and profitability plans.Management at a strategic level requires systems and procedures to be developed and implemented to facilitate the organisation's operational plan.No licensing, legislative, regulatory or certification requirements apply to this unit at the time of endorsement.

Negotiate recommendations for variations to operational plans and gain approval from designated persons/groups

Develop and implement systems to ensure that procedures and records associated with documenting performance are managed in accordance with organisational requirements

Level 4Title Develop workplace policies and procedures for

158

Page 159: kasipkor.kzkasipkor.kz/.../uploads/2016/09/21-Heating-air-conditioningventilation.doc  · Web viewperforated double-sided aluminium foil factory ... connected to a boiler and heat

sustainabilityAbstract This unit of competency specifies the outcomes required to

develop and implement policies and procedures to continuously support resource efficiency and environmentally sustainable work practices.

Learning outcomes

Assessment criteria

1. Develop workplace sustainability policy.

Scope of sustainability policy is defined. Stakeholders are identified and consulted as a key

component of policy development process. Strategies for minimising resource use, reductions in

toxic material and hazardous chemical use, and employment of lifecycle management approaches at all stages of work are included in policy.

Recommendations are made for policy options based on likely effectiveness, timeframes and cost.

Policy is developed that reflects organisation's commitment to sustainability as an integral part of the business planning and as a business opportunity.

Appropriate methods of implementation are agreed.2. Communica

te the policy.

Policy, including its expected outcome, is promoted to key stakeholders.

Those involved in implementing the policy are informed of outcomes expected, activities to be undertaken and responsibilities assigned.

3. Implement the policy.

Procedures to help implement the policy are developed and communicated.

Strategies for continuous improvement in resource efficiency are implemented.

Record systems for tracking continuous improvements in sustainability approaches are established and responsibilities assigned.

4. Review policy implementation.

Outcomes are documented and feedback is provided to key personnel and stakeholders.

Success or otherwise of policy is investigated. Records are monitored to identify trends that may

require remedial action, and used to promote continuous improvement of performance.

Policies and procedures are modified as required to ensure improvements are made.
