Adults over 18 years need a valid identity card orpassport to register. The parent or guardian's signa-ture is required on the registration form for childrenand adolescents up to the age of 18 to register. Chil-dren and young people also need a child's identitycard, student card, or identity card to register.With your library card, you can borrow media fromall departments of the city library (main site onMünsterplatz, Haslach and Mooswald district libra-ries, Rieselfeld children's and youth media library,mobile library, and eLibrary) and use the internetstations for free.

12-month student card €10.00for students, trainees, people in sponsored voluntary service, unemployed people, recipients of welfare benefits and basic security benefits upon presentation of proof (for ages 18 and over)

You can borrow items from a self-service stationwith your library card and your personal password.Please check your items for completeness and da-mage before borrowing. After they have been ente-red in your personal account, you will receive a loanreceipt showing the individual return dates. Pleaseretain your receipt for your own information!

Items can be renewed for the respective loan periodup to two times, provided that they have not been re-served. You can renew your items yourself online atthe earliest one week before the end of the loan pe-riod in the online catalogue, at the lending stations,at the catalogue stations in the library, or by con-tacting us in person or by telephone during the ope-ning times on the phone number: (0761) 201 2207.
You can return your items at the return stations. A re-turn machine is available at the main branch outsideopening times.
If you exceed the due date, you will be charged flatrate overdue fines for all items due on the same date.These are accrued independently of a written notice.

For CDs, CD-ROMs, films, and console software, addi-tional fees will be due if the loan period is exceeded:€0.50 per item for each opening day after the duedate.
You can reserve items that are currently on loan your-self on the internet in the online catalogue or at thecatalogue stations in the city library, or you can re-serve items at the information stations.There is a reservation fee of €1 per item. As soon asthe item you want is available, you will be notified inwriting by post or via e-mail on request. The item willthen be available for collection for one week.
