Joyful Homes Initiative “Joy is the infallible sign of the presence of God.” – St.

Augustine. God is present in our families, but can others see it by our joy? Joyful Homes is a new initiative of the Marriage

& Family Life Office of the Archdiocese of Kansas City in Kansas. It is designed to carry the spirit of the Enflame Our

Hearts Convocation into our families. As families of our archdiocese, we will be getting honest about the joys and struggles in our lives and serious about making one small

change each month to invite more God – more JOY into our homes. Will you join this initiative? Get started with Sep-

tember’s challenge at www.archkcks.org/intentional. Bap-tism is the first intentional act in any Christian’s life so we

start there. Learn more at http://archkcks.org/joyful-homes.

Holy Angels Bazaar News To ensure the health and safety of our parish, it has been decided that the 2020 Fall Bazaar will be cancelled. As our

largest fundraiser, the bazaar conservatively makes up 10% of our income. Therefore, it’s imperative that we find a way to make up the deficit incurred by not having a bazaar. Keeping in mind that you’ll not be donating food, purchasing ingre-dients, buying meals, doing dishes, etc., each family will be asked to donate $120. With your donation, you will receive one free book of raffle tickets. Please pick up the envelope with your name at the back of church. Donations and raffle

tickets should be placed in the collection basket, dropped by the parish office or mailed to Holy Angels Bazaar Committee at 520 East 4th Ave, Garnett KS 66032. We sincerely appre-

ciate your help with this year’s UnBazaar! May God bless you and keep you well!

the space(s) where you are available to assist at weekly Mass (servers, lectors & sacristans). Please fill in the first weeks of

October now so we can meet the bulletin print schedule. Additionally, we are making a special request for more

volunteers to come forward for these assignments as some have stepped back from volunteering due to COVID, etc. You

may call or email scheduling requests to the parish office. And as always, we deeply appreciate those who volunteer to

assist at weekly Mass.

enjoy some COVID-friendly time together as a family? On select Saturdays in the months of September & October, the gates of Prairie Star Ranch will be open for families to enjoy some casual, open-air fun. Come fish (bring your own poles),

picnic, hike and more. On each Open Gate day, a different staff-facilitated camp activity will be offered for a small fee. Otherwise, the experience is free, and donations are wel-come. Gates will be open from 10am-4pm, no registration required. Upcoming Open Gate dates are September 19, September 26 and October 3. For full schedule of event

dates, staff-facilitated activity list, COVID-19 precautions and more information, visit archkck.org/ranch.

Planned Giving Brief Have your plans changed during this difficult time? Socio, political, and economic changes in our society may have

caused the need to provide and protect your family with a Will or Trust. With a trust your heirs will avoid probate and

working with an estate planning advisor you can be very creative in structuring your bequests to maximize your

financial resources for giving. Learn and explore ways to plan at CatholicPlannedGiving.org.
