    2   Procedures

    Objectives:

    At the end of this unit you will be

    able to:1. ask for and show certainty,2. give attention,

    3. deliver some procedures abouthow to do something using

    spoken English,4. deliver some spoken tips,

    5. create procedural texts,6. write rules in public places, and

    In our daily lives, we always deal with procedures. For example, at school students

    apply procedures when they conduct an experiment or apply for scholarship. At home,

    we carry out procedures when cooking fried noodles or rice. We can also find procedural

    texts in written forms. For example, when we buy a calculator, we’ll get a small book

    informing how to operate the calculator. This book is usually called a manual. So, what

    do you know about procedures? You’ll learn the text type in this unit, including its

    grammatical features and structure.

    wiping down with rubbing alcohol will not kill many germs or 

    bacteria.

     At last, store raw meats in a pan so meat juices can’t drip

    on other foods in the fridge. It’s a good idea to cover stuff and

    not leave it open anyway.
