Pipercross have just celebrated 25 years in the business of high performance filters. Supporting many of the great drivers and teams from the past It’s focus has always been to design and engineer the best performance filters money can buy.

In 2012 Pipercross is the technical partner on induction technology to teams in F1, Lemans, GT, BTCC,

Pipercross composite airflow technology is an exclusive design process that comprises of multi layered grades of bonded reticulated foam designed to give the highest air flow without compromise on filtration. The development of these composite panels allows the filter to be carefully re-engineered for each application until the optimum flow is achieved. Foam technology is constantly developing and is the most advanced filter material available.

Pipercross composite filters give up to 99.2%+ efficiency in dirt filtration and flow stronger for longer compared to paper and cotton filters. In independent tests, the laminated foam design provides maximum dirt retention whilst retaining maximum airflow. This is a unique feature to Pipercross filters.

Pipercross always recommend oiled filters, but applications that are known to be sensitive to this have been designed with this in mind without oil. These filters have a variation in Pipercross design to ensure they are still as effective.

Before production every filter is bench flowed to prove that it flows faster than any other filter including cheaper materials such as cotton-gauze and polyester and If Pipercross can’t make an improvement it won’t make the filter.

Every filter has a lifetime warranty on materials and manufacturing and can be washed clean at regular intervals. A PX cleaning kit included an approved detergent and re-oil can for applications that required it.

Pipercross Induction Systems remove the restrictive factory airbox to offer the maximum possible airflow into the engine. All filters use Pipercross composite airflow technology and systems are only released for production when they are bench-flow tested and make an improvement in airflow performance. Pipercross induction systems are highly recommended for optimum performance.

Venom Induction SystemsVenom is a the latest addition to the Pipercross Induction range and is the most technologically advanced system to date. Extremely light weight and manufactured in a heat resistant polypropylene chassis it contains a double double conical induction design making it the highest flowing filter in the range. Developed in conjunction with a leading WTCC team it achieves this by increasing the surface area to maximise air flow and removes restriction. The design also increased dust capacity means that the filter flows stronger for longer. A key characteristic built into all Pipercross filters.

Viper Induction SystemDeveloped in conjunction with Lotus on the 340R project, the Pipercross Viper continues to be the primary choice for enthusiasts looking for the very best from their engine. The Viper design incorporates a carbon fibre heat shield mounted over an fully enclosed Pipercross cone and uses a flexible ram pipe to deliver cool air into the engine.

VIS Induction SystemsVelocity Induction Systems use remote air intake technology, combining a Pipercross PCAT layered foam air filter with a extended carbon fibre cold intake pipe to locate the coolest intake position in the engine bay. Only developed for VW and Lexus models.

Cone Induction SystemsCone Induction System uses the Pipercross layered foam cone filter mounted on an polished aluminum based and incude all pipework & fitting kit required for a direct fit. The range of off-the-shelf competition air filters offer engine filtration using the Pipercross composite airflowtechnology layered foam, designed for people who demand the very best from their engine. These coilovers (which, of course, includes 4 shocks and springs) re flat out insane value. These are basically the best and most economically priced coilovers (that you can actually rely on) on the market today.Are they junk? No. Are they competitive with the high end products from HR, Eibach, KONI, KW, etc? Yes and No. In function, they will offer similar performance and features but lets be clear. You are buying a full coil over setup for the price that other companies charge for 2 adjustable shocks but it is still a good value and while they have their limits, they are a great product and are definitely worth considering if you are looking for new shocks, springs or other coil overs.

Wayne picked up plenty of trophies in 2011 with a 3rd place overall in the BDC Super Pro. He’s made some big changes in 2012 and looking for the win.

In a championship full of Nissans only a few try and use something different. The driver behind the only Toyota Soarer give’s his season review.

The British Drift Championship is getting bigger and better every year, what are your thoughts on the 2011 season?

The standard of driving this year has been outstanding in all 3 classes. 2011 was my third year in BDC and I think its been the best and most competitive year to date. Next year should be amazing if the standard rises again.

What did you have to do to prepare for the season?

I had a list of jobs to do to the car to get ready for the 2011 season but a sub-frame mod took longer than planned a very little got done. The most important change was the clutch, 2010 I struggled with a unreliable clutch so upgraded to a twin plate for 2011. The only other upgrades for 2011 was a new exhaust(EMPperformance) and wheel alignment and set-up.

What was your favorite round this year?

My favorite round of 2011 has to be round 3 at Teesside, I had a mixed weekend of joint top qualifier with Paul Smith then having to do a diff and gearbox change between practice and top 16 battles. Made the top 8 and got the hard charger award for the weekend.

What was your highlight of the season?

The highlight of the year for me has to be battling with Declan at round 1 for 3rd and 4th place and coming away with a podium totally sur-prised.

What are your plans for next year?

For next year I’m hoping to find a sponsor who can help support me through the year. The car will be having the last years planned work plus a few extra if finances allow, the main work being an slight in-crease in power and a colour change.

I’m hoping to make the car more competative for next year as this year i found where it’s biggest weaknesses were against the competition. Hopefully i can make the big car good.

Who do you think is the driver to watch in 2012?

As I said before the standard of driving is awesome, so I think there will be a number of drivers to watch out for next year including the drivers moving up from the pro class.
