MALE ASSOCIATES WESTMERE FIRE DISTRICT CTMSpec Overhead Door Replacement DECEMBER 2013 10.1195 001116 - 1 SECTION 001116 - INVITATION TO BID Sealed Bids will be received by the Westmere Fire District, at the Offices of the Board of Fire Commissioners, in the Westmere Fire District, located at 1741 Western Avenue, Albany, NY 12203, (Phone: 518-456-6734) until 6:30 p.m. local time on December 19, 2013 and then, at said office, publicly opened and read aloud for: WESTMERE FIRE DISTRICT Overhead Door Replacement Westmere Fire District will award a single prime contract for the Work, which generally includes the removal and replacement of two steel panel sectional doors and eight aluminum/glass sectional door assemblies, including all associated low voltage electrical connections for new motorized operators, controls and equipment. The Work under this Contract generally includes provisions for temporary facilities and continued maintenance of the existing facility as defined within the contract documents. The Work shall allow for full occupancy beyond the limits of Work so as not to interfere with the fire department's day-to-day operations. The Work limits shall be as defined within the contract documents. The Work shall be substantially complete, for occupancy and use by the Owner, within 60 calendar days, and completed and ready for final payment within 30 calendar days thereafter. Bids will be received on a Stipulated Sum basis, with unit prices and alternates as described in Contract Documents. The labor on this contract shall be performed in all respects in full accordance with the Labor Law of the State of New York. Contractors must conform to the New York State prevailing wage rate schedules with are annexed to and form a part of the specifications for this project. Bids should not include sales and compensating use taxes on materials incorporated into the work, as Westmere Fire District is not subject to State, Local or Federal Taxes Bids actually received by mail or by hand after the appointed time on the date specified shall be rejected, notwithstanding that such Bid may have been placed in a mail box or other mail receptacle regularly maintained by the United States Postal Service before such time, and ordinarily in sufficient time to have been delivered on time. Bids will be binding for 45 days from bid opening. Complete sets of Bidding and Contract Documents may be obtained at the Fire District office or online at www.westmerefire.org. A Pre-bid Conference is not scheduled, however Bidders should familiarize themselves with the project conditions prior to submitting a Bid by scheduling an appointment during normal business hours through the Fire District office, located at 1741 Western Avenue, Albany, NY 12203 (Phone: 518-456-6734). SECTION 001116 - INVITATION TO BID
