    1 Information

    DGM has advert leaking at the high speed shaft in the new gearbox on Tuesday, September 9, 2013.

    DGM is concerned that an internal seal does not work. To improve the corrosion protection DGM has the gear completely filled with oil.

    2 Comment of TAKRAF

    Normally, it is not intended that the gear housing is completely filled with oil.

    When the gearbox it a long time out of service, to be switched on at intervals of three to six months, the oil pump of the gear box. For this we need the oil level of operation, according to the manual.

    3 Cause of the leakage

    In the housing of the bevel pinion shaft is installed one oil seal (17). For the protection toward dust existed one labyrinth seal on the drive shaft. We have between the two seals a chamber. In case of defect in the shaft sealing ring, to hear the oil is absorbed. This chamber has one outlet directly run into the gear box housing.

    You can see in the photo, the outlet of the chamber is connected with the gear box housing.

    DGM has fill up the gearbox with oil over the bevel pinion shaft. The oil came in the chamber through the outlet pipe and go out through the labyrinth.
