Rail Head Depth Gauge: Checking Fixture

    Technical Data / Product Description

The Rail Head Depth gauge checking fixture is now available for engineers you wish to

periodically check the accuracy of the gauge.

Manufactured from aluminium and stainless steel, the

fixture is used to check the engraved datum line on the slide

arm on the gauge aligns to 20mm position on the engraved

scale. This will verify the accuracy of gauge by utilising the 4

contact points (a, b, and c profile contacts and d the

    underside of the slide arm).

Each checking fixture is supplied with an engraved serial

number for traceability and auditing purposes.

This is a very easy and quick process. Simply place the gauge

on the fixture so that points a, b, and c are in contact with

the datum faces on the fixture. Lower the contact arm on to

the top face of the fixture (point d) and visually check that

the datum line on the contact arm aligns to the 20mm

position on the engraved scale on the gauge.

    Using the fixture:

    General Description:

The fixture is supplied with a calibration certificate.

Provided the fixture is used with care and consideration, the

fixture should only need recalibrating every 5 years.
