Kaspersky Interactive Protection SimulationAll around the world, cyber criminals target thousands of companies every second. More often than not, a cybersecurity expert has to deal with multiple threats coming from different sides at the same time. Thus a job in cybersecurity requires a cool mind and fast reflexes.
On 13th of February Kaspersky Lab experts will hold Kaspersky Interactive Protection Simulation (KIPS) game open to everyone attending Hello Barcelona ACM ICPC Programming Bootcamp 2017. It is an interactive simulation, which lasts a little over two hours and allows one to assume the role of a cybersecurity expert. Participants will learn to make critical decisions under time pressure and gain a fresh perspective on urgent problems in information security.
Usually valued at around $5,000, KIPS is a paid training exercise for enterprises, but the company is conducting this unique interactive simulation for ACM ICPC Programming Bootcamp 2017 participants for free. Teams from top companies, such as Toshiba, Panasonic, Moёt & Hennessy and Macy’s have already played KIPS. In the game, the players run an organization that is subject to cyber threats. There are several game scenarios: a bank, a hydroelectric power station, a large corporation and
even a digital government administration, to name a few. Each scenario includes real-life threats these organizations are facing on a daily basis. The goal is to protect the business and gain revenue. Each decision affects the course of events, and time is running out – just like in real life!
To participate in the game, one does not need to be an experienced cybersecurity expert; on the contrary, KIPS is designed for a broad audience to gain a better grasp of the problems businesses face every day in our connected world.
To participate please bring your laptop or tablet.
KIPS winners will get amazing prizes!

Barcelona needs no introduction: it’s widely recognised as one of the world’s cultural capitals thanks to its many museums, cosmopolitan feel, amazing food scene, beautiful beaches and architecture including the masterpieces of Gaudi, which are scattered across town.
It’s also one of the most thriving cities in terms of creativity and innovation and has been ranked among top 10 startup cities across Europe. We can’t think of a better place than Barcelona to inspire our bootcamp participants outside of the classroom.

UNIVERSITY REINVENTEDLeaders in business are the students’ personal teachers. We don’t care about titles and we don’t do red tape: we hire teachers based on experience and expertise, just like in the real world. We are the most relevant University of our age.
STUDENTS ARE SUPERSTARSHarbour.Space exists for one purpose only: to help young individuals pursue knowledge, so they can progress into fulfilling and meaningful professional futures. We offer the fundamental knowledge, skills and guidance that give students the chance to make anything happen. Our students are not cogs in a machine. We celebrate our human approach by cultivating team work, interdiscipinarity, empathy and curiosity.
TECH DESIGNGreat ideas and their realisation seldom come from specialists: they come from all-round visionaries. But presently, technology and design are in an arranged marriage: they are together because this is what’s expected. We are cultivating a love marriage between the two, and we are the only University in Europe to do so. We’re doing this because the two naturally depend on one another, but experience a great lack of understanding. Interdisciplinarity is our love potion — expect sparks.
TIME ≠ MONEYYouth is not for sale. That’s why we teach highly relevant and real-world responsive courses that give students a head-start even before graduation. Our programme leaders continuously scrutinise the curriculum to ensure students focus on realtime useful subjects. We teach 3-week intensive courses throughout the year, offering more learning in less time, on flexible and adaptable schedules.
NO COMPROMISESIf you get a place at Harbour.Space that means you get the best education. The programmes are tough and our students must work hard. We don’t sell quick-fix coding or data science courses, because they don’t exist. Only with very solid foundational knowledge of universal core concepts in science can students grow to move forward indefinitely, no matter how much the world around us changes.
