ties to the ranching community to get involved with the Steer-A-Year program without actually donating a steer.

All proceeds support in-state Wyoming athletic scholarships & the

UW Rodeo & Livestock Judging Teams!The Steer-A-Year program is a way for our ag community to get involved in Wyoming Athletics. Ranchers, businesses, and individuals may participate by donating:

Physical Steers• Cash of $600 or greater• Gift-in-kind services of $600 or greater •

AGAIN IN 2008The steers will be transported to the PETSCH FEED LOT/Y6 Feeders near Meriden, WY and fed until slaughter (steers may be sold at a earlier date depending on market).

• Carcass data will be provided to our members as a benefit for each steer donated (light weight & heavy weight steers may not be feasible to finish).

• Awards will be given based on carcass values, rate of gain, and initial values.

Awards presented at a football game (Ag Appreciation Day)

• Greatest initial value (based on market value on day of process)

• Best rate of gain (3 levels – in wt. 500-600#, 601-700# and 701# and up)

• Greatest net increase in value during feeding period ( 3 levels – in wt. 500-600#, 601-700# and 701# and up)

• Greatest carcass value

• Volunteer of the year

You don't have to be a rancher to participate in this program. You can donate a cash equivalent ($600 per steer). Some of our non-rancher members actually buy calves from ranchers in their

area and donate the calf.
